Mortifilia
Hi fellow daemon lords. After lurking for weeks I finally took some photos of my most "recent" project: A bloodletter squad Well, I guess recent isnt the apropriate word here because I´ve been working on these guys since the spearhead came out ;) I take really lots of time removing the mold lines, filling all gaps (I really hate the one in the head) and painting, wich, of course is the slowest part of the process. Lots of people say me they´re just troops, but I really like blending the skin and painting every little detail this awesome models have. I love painting. At the same time, I painted 2 flesh hounds and started a screamer, because I ran out of basing supplies so I had to wait to finish the bloodletters. My to paint list is: Skulltaker (WIP) Juggernaught (Assembled) 10 Daemonettes (1 assembled) The Masque Sigvald the Magnificent aka Herald of Slaanesh 20 Plaguebearers ;) Epidemius Soulgrinder 6 Flesh Hounds Beast of Nurgle Fiend of Slaanesh 2 Screamers 2 flamers Harry the Hammer White Dwarf As you can see, its loads of stuff :) , so expect irregular updates (mainly when school work and i mean tons of it pins me) First some pics of the bloodletters and comand group detail shots: http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr4/Epidemius/IMG_2953.jpg http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr4/Epidemius/IMG_2960.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/168184-my-daemon-army/ Share on other sites

Captain Malachi
Very impressive, there's really not a lot I can say advice wise, except to keep doing whatever it is you're doing ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/168184-my-daemon-army/#findComment-1983361 Share on other sites
Corpse.
Looking good, keep it up. Might want to paint several models at once so your not dipping and washing the brush so often. Mortifilia
Thank you for your replies. I only noticed now a spot in one of the hounds tusks, it is corrected now. Corpse: I like to paint one model at a time so I can concentrate in its details. I know it takes lots of time but the only thing I did them all at same time was spraying the grey primer. I don´t know if it shows in the pics, but they have different skin tones. Some have a basecoat of scab red and others of red gore, wich is blended to blazing or fiery orange, no dip/drybrush here. I do them this way because I hate the all Blood Red paintjobs, they look like clones of each other. I mean, people don´t have exactly equal skin tones and I guess daemons are this way to. Also I may change the rims of the bases to Khemri Brown. They are Goblin Green now, what do you think? Captain Malachi
Most people nowadays paint the rims brown, but to be honest I don't think it really matters. Nobody really looks at the base rims, so just do them how you want. As long as they're all the same it should be fine. Don't worry about doing them one at a time, I do the same (although your painting is far superior to mine), if you're a painter more than a gamer then it's probably for the best anyway. nurgling6688
Looks great, i agree with changing the color of the base rims though. You may say no one looks at them, but it is still a color on the model and a fairly prominent one too. The reason most people paint their rims a shade of brown now, besides the obvious earth tones idea, is that it is neutral, and will not affect your color balance much. Green is not neutral, and in your case is contrasting with the red of the bloodletters, which draws more attention to it and makes something seem off with the model. No one wants a Christmas deamon. Sorry, art student, but yea, i know bases may seem like a last minute thing, but they do affect the balance of your colors. On another note, great job on the bloodletters, great blending! looking forward to seeing more. Also like the use of the old flesh hounds, better models then the new ones in my opinion. Emperor's Instrument
I love those hellblades, how did you do them if you don't mind sharing the technique? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/168184-my-daemon-army/#findComment-1989856 Share on other sites
