Aretak Posted May 12, 2009 Share Posted May 12, 2009 Here's some pictures from my current projects. My Games-workshop is doing a Valkyrie painting competition, winner gets a skybase. So I decided that i'd make a Chaos Valkyrie and paint it up since I started putting together a CSM army recently. I am going with a Tzeentch look for the outside of the Valkyrie and maybe Nurgle on the inside (So far i've lined the inside with greenstuff and made the walkway look like a tongue.) When that back flap opens I really want it to look almost like a mouth or a stomach inside of the Valkyrie. Now I just gotta give the legion a name. The color is Enchanted Blue mixed equal parts with Boltgun metal. Then tin bitz for the metal areas. As you can see I used the doghouse chaos warrior leg idea for my army. While everyone else was making crazy wacked out mutated things I decided to go for something I could use at the end of the day and ended up with this. I haven't cleaned it up or anything, but I did use two sets of legs to put in some spacers to make it close to the same size as the rest of my army will end up being. Drudge Dreadnought Posted May 12, 2009 Share Posted May 12, 2009 Couple things... First, while a traitor guard valk would make perfect sense a CSM one doesn't really. Its imperial tech, and while it could be stolen CSM probably wouldn't. Second, it would make the most sense for it to either be only 1 god or undivided and not look like any particular god or have effects from all of them. Tzeentch plus nurgle doesn't make much sense since they hate each other a lot. Other than that it looks good. The feathers are well done but i'd suggest having them cover a bit of the wing not just the edge. "Blend" them into the wing a bit more if you know what i mean. Aretak Posted May 13, 2009 Author Share Posted May 13, 2009 Update for the Valkyrie. With some great input i've decided to go all Tzeentch with it instead of try to do two or more Gods. The right wing is close to being completed, going to try to finish the left by tonight maybe tomorrow. Maybe one pilot up in an "eye" for the beak, single cockpit, pilot with a face of terror melded into the cockpit around him. Better to throw out (semi)completed mediocrity to be start fresh on would will bring greatness... AnDyzZzoRe Posted July 1, 2009 Share Posted July 1, 2009 Looking great so far! One little thing is nagging at me, and that is his scythe. Actually holding a scythe like that would be extrmely unwieldy, and you wouldnt get much strength behind the swing. Even if he is just holding it up it would look kinda weird. Sawing off the handle/pommel and extending the shaft down so he is gripping it in the middle will make it look more sturdy and realistic IMO.
