Chapter Tactics

Any army led by this Special Character gains the Martial Pride special rule.

Martial Pride

Any model with a WS gains +1 WS when fighting a model with a WS of 4 or more in close combat. However, if the enemy's WS is 3 or less, then WS is decreased by 1.

Wow, heavy cost.

Master-crafting is neat, but not THAT neat anymore.

Martial Pride is an interesting rule, but shouldn't cost too much (assuming the army loses Combat Tactics for it as is status quo). In fact, analyzing it ... why have it? Space Marines will hit on a 4+ until the target WS reaches 9 or 10!!! So increasing the average WS to 5 against 5+ WS is still hitting on 4+. Unless the point of Martial Pride is taking away the advantage of having WS 4. I can see the rule in effect, but should it cost a lot for a rule that disadvantages the army more than not?

So I'm trying to guess why he should cost SO much more than Calgar? I like the dedicated Rhino a lot though, good idea there.

I've edited the points cost; it should be somewhat more reasonable now.

you are missing that it's actually boost.

Unit with the rule hit most common opponents (those with WS4) on 3+ (as models with the rule will have WS5). Also it help against WS5 (they hit them on 4+ instead of 3+ hits).

It's only downgrade when fighting meaningless opponents with WS3.

So Race Bannon failed to spot how this rule work.

Welp, you called me out. I should have been more encompasing in my post. It was a bad reply and that's my fault.

But Night Stalker is still correct in that I failed to see every angle of the rule. :(

At least the points was fixed.

So, does the Chapter replace Combat Tactics for Martial Pride?

Yes.

Masterful Strategist
Any army led by Brother-Captain Marius may re-roll any failed attempts to Seize the Initiative.

Shatter their Sky!
Brother-Captain Marius is captain of the Aquila Dominatus, and is thus capable of bringing terrible firepower to bear from the orbiting fleet.
An army that includes Brother-Captain Marius may use two Orbital Bombardments per game. The second bombardnment is optional, and counts as a Heavy Support choice.
