Seraphim Load Out

Recommended Posts

Hi, just posted my army list in the list section for some feedback and remember from when I used to play Witch Hunters that the Seraphim were one of my favourite units. Here's how I plan to play them...

Vet Superior & 6 Seraphim w/Eviscerator, Twin Hand Flamers x 2, Book of St Lucias - 208pts

They are set up for taking on a variety of opponents, from tanks to light infantry. Do you prefer to make your Seraphim units more specialised? Also I thought that 7 was a good number as with the extra dice when rolling for Faith they can pretty much pass any of the Acts. Does anyone find though that larger units work better to hide that Eviscerator more?

I use seraphim with canoness as allies in my DH army. There is Eviscerator wielding veteran sister superior, one seraphim with hand flamers and 3 ordinary. With simuclarum imperialis acts of fate works fine. Canoness is armed with frag granade for assaults, blessed weapon and with bolt pistol.

Canoness gives valuable 2 extra faith points, wounds and melee power. Ofcourse I could save points and take few ordinary sisters instead, but its big difference playing with 3 faith points instead of 1. I try to keep canoness as cheap as possible, because together they will be least 249 pts. Its costly unit, but also very flexible one.

That is how I usually run mine 99% of the time, but I have been known to do:

Vet Superior & 6 Seraphim w/ Master Crafted Plasma Pistol, Power Weapon, Inferno Pistols x2, Book of St Lucius If I am running more foot sloggy units so that I have mobile Vehicle and Terminator killers. This is pretty rare, but it is good. Just don't do it against Dark Eldar as they tend to use Night Shields that render your Inferno Pistols useless.

Seras work with pretty much any combination I think. The flamers are very effective and inexpensive and the inferno pistols can make for a formidable tank hunting squad. The Eviscerator is also a fine choice for the VSS as it gives them some extra punch in CC, such that I'd rarely consider a power weapon (at S3 not all the great anyway).
