Not even as a trim. Quite why I chose Imperial Fists, I shall never know. And I chose to do my commander first. Ah well, let us begin. Here is Captain Daecus of the 3rd Company. Yellow is a hard colour to get right, I had not painted yellow either until I started my Fists, and now it haunts my dreams ha ha! There are plenty of quality tutorials out on the net (inlcuding Lamentor's on this site, which I think is top notch), they helped me a lot when I started. Seems the technique I used on the commander (who will also be finished today) doesn't work as well on larger models. A Yellow Ink might bring the colour through a bit more? I've had P3's Yellow Ink and Windsor and Newton's Canary Yellow Ink reccommended to me, it might be worthwhile checking those out. Commander Proteus Posted May 17, 2009 Share Posted May 17, 2009 Your painting is good, But I would thicken the color on a few red areas, because they look a little splotchy, like the red bolter casing, and the eyes could use a highlight. Its a good yellow, but a little on the chalky side. A touch of paint here or there could do wonders with little effort. Not bad at all though!
