Eddie Orlock
I'm not so sure. I feel like the 1~2" move per turn better represents the almost constant, tiny changes that are the hallmark of a master manipulator than a single unit being in the right place at the right time.I've played other games with similar mechanics, and the get obnoxious fast. From which perspective? Was it obnoxious from having your own units constantly touched and moved by another player? That I can empathize with. Or is it from constantly moving units, having to remember to do so, etc. etc. etc.? You may be on to something, and so I'd like to know the reasoning behind your opinion. Using orders with my Guard formations irritates me a bit in so far as by the letter of the law the chance is lost if it slips my mind and I shoot something else first. I find that mechanics like that are an invitation to fondle someone elses models and I, like a lot of people, am a little bit touchy about that. On this note, Lash irritates me, especially when I see the Chaos player start reaching across the table. I usually attempt to intercept such motions with the suggestion that I'll just move my own guys where he wants them, normally it's an acceptable compromise. The Word in an Ear isn't as bad, it's only once and for the most part can be closely supervised. I try to extend he same courtesies to my opponents, only moving their things with express permission.
