Relictors Army WIP

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, looking for thoughts and opinions on my Shrike counts-as:

I can't decide on the cape... part of me likes the way kit looks - makes him stand out from the other jump packers - but there's this niggling thing in my brain saying "wouldn't it catch on fire??" :)

Any advice/new ideas (either about the cape, or anything else) would be much appreciated... want this guy to look as good as possible.

Even if the cape did catch on fire, what's the worst that could happen? PA is fireproof-ish... SM capes are probably fireproof anyways. Nice work you've got there.

hehe... probably true.

...Waaaait the termi arms are bigger than a standard marine arms. You converted them?

yeah... just chop the arms (both termie and normal) off just below the elbow guard.... then use the lower part of the termie arms with the shoulder and elbow of the normal one...

Chapter Master is coming along...

FAR from quality painting, but i'm kinda pleased how it's going so far... gotta get some green stuff before i can attach the left arm, so i can get the angle I want (basically the angle in the mockup pic)...

Also, today I managed to lay my hands on the Games Day 08 miniature.

Relictors were my first favourite space marine chapter back when I first collected White Dwarf (was a Lord of the Rings Player back then) and your guys do them justice with your simple colour scheme. A few bits of advice/tips. If you have a lighter colour grey then do a second highlight on your Chaplain as it will really bring him up to a new level and help you go one more step in your painting skills. Doing that extra highlight on my Black Templars' armour really taught me how to highlight better. Also if you haven't considered it micron pens are a quick and clean way to do the black lining. Can use the micron pen to put simple black holes on your gun barrels.

Cheers, Messanger

looking nice only thing are faces but to have decent look there is simple way how to do it -

1 step) paint face with tallarn flesh (or similiar)

2 step) apply badab black wash (if you not happy with outcome you can use some other wash i used sepia wash on some models) it will darken face a bit

3 step)now mix flesh color with little white not much only to be little lighter than original color and paint face it works well when you have only little color on brush so you hit only higher areas.

keep up good work
