Themed Custodes force

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I've posted this up under Army List Reviews as well, however the responses there tend to be based on battlefield effectiveness. Since this is the dedicated Heresy forum I wonder if anyone here could critique this list on a "fluff" basis, particularly in light of the Horus Heresy: Collected Visions. Can anyone see a way of levering a dread into this list as I spent ages converting one from GW and Privateer Press bitz.

Imperial Diplomatic Intercession Force

HQ - Malcador the Sigillite (Epistolary)

HQ - Custodes Shield Captain (Chapter Master with Relic Blade and Storm Shield)

HQ - 8 Honour Guard incl Champion with Thunder Hammer and Chapter Banner

Troops - 10 Man Tactical with Power Fist, Flamer and Rocket Launcher

Troops - Ditto

Transports - 2 Rhinos

Elites - 8 Sternguard with 4 combi-meltas

Fast Attack - 2 Custodes Jetbikes (2 Landspeeder Tornados with multi-meltas)

Heavy Support - Landraider

What do you think?

I havent looked through collected visions in a while, but it sonds fine.

For the Dread, maybe say the interred custode was wounded during the Unification of Terra, and was one of the first Dreadnoughts?

do you have a thread in the modelling section for this army list? woud love to see some pictures

i could have sword the Collected Visions books had atleast 1 pic of a custodes dreadnought???

i'll look when i get my book back...its currently circulating my gaming group.

WLK

Yes it does, but im at work now so i cant check mine for page number.

But as for fluff, theyd be even rarer than regular or ven. dreads, so i wouldnt have more than 1-2 in your army.

The jetbikes, IIRC, werent 2 man crafts. correct me if I'm wrong, are you playing them like the tornados, or like attack bikes?

Tornados.

I'm going to upload some pics when I get the chance. I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to computers. The army looks quite well at the moment but is still a WIP. Interestingly it plays in the Big Win/Big Loss categories of armies. It's very specialised, but I suppose that's the elite of the elite for you.
