Kastellan Timotheus (new pics!)

Recommended Posts

No way, I can't belive you changed it to that. As fantastic a job as it is, I much prefered the origonal guy you were making. I hate to say it but looked much better.

Sorry if you see it like that. Many others don't and me myself like him now even more, too.

Thanks for the positive criticism brothers! :D

Anyone got suggestions on the shrine though?

wow, you really did a service to the blanche artwork, im truly impressed. My one criticism is the shrine is rather large-- maybe add another skull and a candle on top? (and of course file the rest of the sister icon off the back  )

I like the new guy alot...funny I was looking over that picture last night thinking how cool it was. The Witch Hunters and Daemon Hunters model range has several shrines that could give you some ideas. Something that I personally think could work well is the addition of a third skull and then a Templar Cross at the top...something similiar to THIS. I do agree with Kurasuke however about the head band looking a little goofy. Maybe make it smaller like what Helbrecht has and remove the lenses or just go with a smaller one.

Well I thought of it like some kinda engraving, but if you sense it annoying I will consider to file it off.

Thanks to all for the very positive criticism, it is a great spur!!

I will think about the suggestions about the shrine and the head-band...you will receive the result... :P

He looks fantastic, I prefer him much more in this present incarnation with less coils. That inferno pistol is well executed and the head conveys that veteran prescence I first felt when I saw that piece of artwork by John Blanche. Truly a model to be proud of.

By the way, do you have anymore Black Templars or 40k models in the works? I'm left with a wet taste in my mouth, and I would love to see some additional work of yours.

  • 1 month later...

So, after some chickening out of it, I finally finished this guy (well at least the part without any paint) and I couldn't back off to show u the result!

Painting will follow step by step in some time... ;)

Last thing I'm not sure about is that I thought about attaching a cyber-cherubim to him...

Something like this

...but I feel like he seems kinda overcharged with that thing! What do you guys think?!

He looks awesome Timotheus...and I think your right when you say cyber-cherubim makes him seem kinda overcharged. If you do decided to go with it then go with the second one. And your crusade looks awesome...the attention to detail is stunning and really brings out alot of character with your Templars.

dude...I love that picture, and I love your conversion! Your GS-Fu is very strong...way stronger than anything I could ever hope to do. One thing, you HAVE to tell me how you got the crosses off of shoulder pads, the little extra cross bits are amazing!

Thank you very much, Messanger of Death and lotsa_terminators!

@ lotsa: Well, the main device is cut, cut, cut and file, file, file! ;)

As far as I know, there is no silver bullet to get these symbols off the shoulder pads. You should just be careful and patient, cut the rough shape out and then file the edges and from behind. That's how I do it! ;)

Thank you guys, too! :)

I think, I'm convinced now to leave the Cherub out. Maybe I'll attach some kinda companion on another base so I could leave him out when I want, but that can wait...

The next pictures may take a time too (still got a big part of my crusade to paint) but will be with paint then! ;)

I would add the Cherub. I love overcharged and over detailed miniature. Your marine looks perfect.

I included a servo skull for each of my Captains wounds on their own base, when he takes a hit, remove one. Simple but cool looking wound markers. I went with servo skulls because of my armys theme and so no one could complain they block line of sight. If they do you just move them they arnt game peices afterall just reminders.

That last guy is JUST TOO COOL. i mean, pictures of dramatic marines look cool but when people ....i don't want to say copy so... are "inspired" by them the models they come out with are just fantastic! - Great job on that.

I don't think the little BOB fits the model very well in either place.
