LPetersson
Why? He cant use HP+B in CC if hes capable of attacking.... Also, he can use it on an invulnerable save- the wording is "first failed saving throw" it doesnt mention wich kind. Unless you dont make saving throws for invulnerable saves? I would think that very silly of you though. True, he can't, but he can use it while they're being shot at... And in my codex it's very clearly stated that HP&B can't be used when the model was hit by 'A weapon that allows no save' which is the only time you would use your invul save... No... sadly, thats not true. Look at Feel No Pain if you dont believe me, theres a difference between an AP 2 or AP 1 weapon and a weapon that allows no armor save. Ill also note that it doesnt even say armor save, merely save- wich means if it allows invulnerable saves or cover saves your still ok... RAW. I see your point and I will concede that it is RAW.Is there any weapon in 40k (outside of Apocalypse) that allows no save at all? Ok, so I'm opening a new thread instead of continuing off topic in another thread. What's the consensus here? I've always played that HP&B would work fine when it's the armour save that's failed and not allowed it to work when it's the Invul save that's been failed. Also, is there a weapon in normal 40k that allows no save at all? I know about Vortex Grenades from Apocalypse (And I still have fond memories of them from the Rogue Trader days), but in normal 40k? Grey Mage
Well just to throw my final bit in here: Warscythes allow no save of any kind- IE they ignore invulnerable and armor saves, and you cant get cover saves in CC. Also note that a powerweapon is described as not allowing a save IIRC. I talked it over with my friends and TO and we came up with a half and half comprimise for this "grey area" as the rules are a bit old- it works against ranged, but CC powerweapons et all dont let you save'm. One thing that was noted in our discussions was that the Runic Charm specificly said "armor save" as opposed to the HP+Bs more general wording. EDIT: Isnt the C'tan Phase Blade used by an =][= assassin also ignoring all saves? JCarter
The rules say that power weapons allow no save but they do--they allow invulnerable saves. How about this? I won't use HP&B against power weapons if my opponent won't take any invulnerable saves against my power weapons. That would fit the rules nicely. JEFF4i
Anything besides Warscythe and C'Tan Phase Blade can be ignored, and instant death (I think, my codex is in my locker at my local gaming store).
