Hfran Morkai
I've just picked up the new copy of WD UK and was intrigued by the Valk squadrons. I was thinking for apocalypse throwing my 5 Grey Hunter squads and possibly a termie squad into valks/vendettas. However I'm not sure if many people would object to this. I think maybe termies shouldn't be allowed as ogryn aren't but what are your thoughts on sticking GH squads in valks for apocalypse. I would probably come up with some fluff as to why the valks are working closely with a marine chapter. I want your opinions, but in apocalypse all's fair I suppose Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169772-cheesy-guard-allies/ Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Id not allow termies, regular marines maybe. TDA cant fit in a rhino, its not fitting in a valkyrie. Though if you used the valk model fo stand in for a thunderhawk, Id not be upset at all. Hfran Morkai
Yeah I don't think models in TDA should be allowed in valks. They would get stuck in the doors. I just love the models and I'm not a big fan of Rhinos Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169772-cheesy-guard-allies/#findComment-2004590 Share on other sites

Hfran Morkai
I just wanted to know what people thought about 50 Grey Hunters flying around in Valks. I can see my tagline now, "What? I couldn't afford a Thunderhawk!" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169772-cheesy-guard-allies/#findComment-2004601 Share on other sites

And I'm agreeing with lunchb0x: if it's Apocalypse you're thinking about this for, "fairness" takes a backseat to "awesomeness" six days a week and twice on Sundays. I'd totally allow it. SeanyPrawny
Plus valkyries are the one missing element of the space wolves viking background. I'm tempted towards the same for myself but I think I'll just steal my brothers when he's not looking, I know he'll be getting plenty. Grey Mage
See... and when I play apocalypse we actually like plant it out to be fair. We also dont normally mix codices without talking to our opponents and allies. Then again, I dont do pick-up games of apocalypse, Ive only seen one of them over the last year actually. Grey Mage
Exactly, who wants to fight fifty lance strikes and 10 abbaddons in a stormlord? And wheres the sense? My group seems to enjoy wacky scenarios, like currently were going to be doing a game where the ork player has 4000pts, split up into different table sections, and theres four marine players with 550pts each who have to get from one short edge of an 8x4 to the other so the thunderhawks can pick them up. Theres rules for noise from guns and fights, sentries, and somewhere therell be a stompa sitting around. Should be loads of fun. I would probably come up with some fluff as to why the valks are working closely with a marine chapter. I want your opinions, but in apocalypse all's fair I suppose I have always wanted to do this since the FW models came out. Me and my bro will be buying a Valk each for out marine chapters. As for why they are working with SW I would change the pilots for SW ones. A few years back I did a SM in a fighter jet style plane. I would not put Termies in them But would allow PA marines. As for how many you can stick in there I would put the same no as the gaurd you can get in there as you can only get 10 models in a Rhino be they PA or human so the same would apply to marines in a Valk. I would let an opponent use it but then I am very easy to play against like that. I would only use it against my brother as unless my opponenet is VERY happy for me to use it I would not. Unless its APOC and then I would ask. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169772-cheesy-guard-allies/#findComment-2005194 Share on other sites
