tortoise
Some of you may remember this conversion I posted a while back. I've finally started the painting process and I thought I'd share it, maybe get some feedback. I'm probably going to redo the freehand on the chest and replace it with something a bit simpler. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/6201/sorcerer.jpg Comments and crit much appreciated. Drudge Dreadnought
I like the freehand. Can you do a tutorial of how you do each paint, and how you do the gradients/blending? zeroeightfive
did i miss a new release? where is that model from??? it looks like its made of pure win so far. well done <_< its a (heavily) converted Sicarius model. you can clearly tell from the pose who it is. the Sicarius model is extremely hard to convert as he's very concave and has a million U symbols all over him. that said, i very much respect people that take the time and effort to convert him. Blindhamster
My god that is cool, the conversion and painting are top notch, very very well blended, I for one think you should keep the freehand, it came out extremely well! MalevolentMc
Simply amazing, conversion work plus a color palette that blows me away. Great job. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169797-sorcerer-of-slaanesh/#findComment-2005669 Share on other sites
tortoise
Thanks guys. The problem I have with the freehand is that it destroys the readability of that area of the model. I'm sure I can do something simpler that will still look good. I also will probably do similar stuff on the inside of the cloak and i don't want them to clash. Stargazer
I'm not so sure I think that the freehand screams SLAANESH and I still think it will look good even if you do more of the similar freehand on the inside of the cloak. Either way it's your choice but I think it will look good as anything you seem to do looks awesome so yeah keep up the good work and I can't wait to see the finished product Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169797-sorcerer-of-slaanesh/#findComment-2005735 Share on other sites

tortoise
I like the freehand. Can you do a tutorial of how you do each paint, and how you do the gradients/blending? Tutorials are difficult at the moment since my photography set up is really only suitable for taking photos in artificial light but can't be blacked out, so I have to wait till it gets dark which at this time of year is too late really to do any actual painting most days. But I'll do one eventually, it might just take a while. Thanks everyone for all the kind words by the way. Further progress has been made. http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/104/sorcerer1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169797-sorcerer-of-slaanesh/#findComment-2006727 Share on other sites

Pig Of Sparta
Looks around nervously... I loved this conversion when you first posted it, and I love it even more now you're painting it, the whole thing just oozes Slaanesh to me ;). Incidentally, what hands/weapons are you giving him/her/it (c'mon it's Slaanesh, you never know)? Now I must return to pretending to be a staunch loyalist (instead of the occasional heretic that I am) before I am discovered by the Inquistion. tortoise
Cheers everyone. Pig of Sparta- In his right hand he will have the banner (not the flag) from the daemonette box, in his other hand the plasma pistol from the EC lord. I tried a crab claw from a deamonette for this as well but it looked a little weedy. Ekkanus
Quick! Someone pass me a bib, i'm drooling! That is an amazing model, the colour scheme is perfect - see the rim on his left shouldpad, is that metallic shaded with inks, or is it NMM?
