Hfran Morkai
I want a large squad of Blood Claw bikers but am concerned about the cost. I also need a Land Speeder and would like some attack bikes. So I was wondering if the Ravenwing battleforce includes standard biker components so I dont have to use Ravenwing bits which would look stupid on SW. I mean I would make a saving of £16 so is this possible? I imagine that the Ravenwing bits are an upgrade sprue but I don't want to buy it and find out that they have to look like Ravenwing. Cheers. hendrik
the ravenwing contains normal biekrs with an upgrade set to make them DA's it's a good buy, i did it for mine from an army point of view bloodclaws bikers are nice, having T5 yet there are some down sides bigest of them being them unable to take frag grenades another hard biker unit would be a 3 men attack bike unit, led by a wolf priest an attack bike can dish out as many attacks as a bloodclaw can, but at WS4 sure they can't take PF's in the unit, but they can have 3 multimeltas firing before you charge in attack bikes have 2 wounds Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169819-blood-claw-bikers/#findComment-2005302 Share on other sites
Hfran Morkai
Yeah Im putting together an 8 man unit with WGPL and WGBL for apocalypse as I love bikers, in fact I might have two large squads and one or two three bike attack bike squads. Cheers. I would use the old SW battleforce but that was discontinued (awesome value) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169819-blood-claw-bikers/#findComment-2005306 Share on other sites
Valerian
from an army point of viewbloodclaws bikers are nice, having T5 yet there are some down sides bigest of them being them unable to take frag Another big drawback is they have no 2nd ccw, so one less attack than regular Blood Claws. Hfran Morkai
I was thinking of running them as a tank hunter unit with powerfists so that doesn't bother me. hendrik
I was thinking of running them as a tank hunter unit with powerfists so that doesn't bother me. then you must use attack bikes with multimeltas, those are far better then PF's against tanks most times you'll hit the tank on a 3+ while with a PF you'll need a 6 to even hit that tank if it moved more then 6" in my list i use the PF's to deal with people, not with tanks (unles the tank didn't move) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169819-blood-claw-bikers/#findComment-2005577 Share on other sites

Hfran Morkai
Cheers, I don't know what I was thinking about using them as tank hunters, but I'm going to get a couple of large squads anyway for fun factor. OnlyInDeath
Just have them led by a converted-up IC, and you will have a hard hitting unit. I know a lot of ppl talk down about BC bikers, but I have never had a problem with them (except against a ravenwing force where they got ambushed). The IC gives the small unit enough killing force to handle just about anything.
