Corpse.
No because everyone takes Vulkan, Pedro or Khan. Your right on that, at least around where I play... Dont forget Shrike too, damn TH+SS & Meleescout armies... Rahveel
I'm trying him out again on Friday (after a few inglorious attempts post new codex). running 20 EW's, but sticking him in a unit of PM's for the FNP synergy (i plan to keep him out of combat anyway). he really does seem like more of a 'fun' character, but 40k is a game, so I figure the 2 go well together :tu: I wonder though, do people think there is a best icon to give EW's? IoK is obvious, but IoN or an IoS may also have its merrits. Corpse.
IoS: Catch people as they flee from you, overunning them or forcing wounds on ATSKNF units (which you may want them to outrun you and stay within 6" and run them off the table). Their higher I makes them great for I4, and nothing else really because they get hit anyways by I5, and most things I5+ with weapons that marines hate will die quickly after they've hit you. (most) IoN: Think bikes when you think of IoN, I try for much larger and faster units like raptors with this icon. Its your call if you want it, I personally preserve it for other units especially deep strikers where rapid fire is a problem in mass. IoT: More merit if you plan on charging specialists with your melee monsters. Something Zerks cant have, and something you can capitilise on on the basis of a troop choice being as mean as possessed (on a bad roll) and have the Inv save. harvarn
bell of lost souls had a recent write up on a bile list. Seems a fun list and rather unique. chillin
(i plan to keep him out of combat anyway). That's the chaos HQ you want, the one you have to keep out of CC  As for icons, they just make an already too expensive even more expensive, they're already are +1 str and fearless, either that's good enough or it isn't. At some point you have to ask yourself, how many points are you going to spend on a squad that at best will be as good as brzrkrs and die just like a reg csm ?? Rahveel
If it’s a fun unit, as many as it takes! Would I use him in a competitive game? No. Do I like to use him in a fair number of friendly games? Yes! (By friendly games, I mean any non-tourney event, against a player I don't have a personal vendetta against. Namely, the local Daemonhunter player.) After all, I play the game to have fun playing it (it is a game after all). I don’t receive the fun in a lump sum at the end of the game when I win. In my opinion, the occasionally random and self destructive nature of chaos makes them way more fun to play than Loyalists, and is the entire reason to choose the army. C'mon, you have to laugh a bit manically when your murder-crazed minions tear each other apart in a frenzied orgy of destruction. Why? Because we're chaos! incinerator950
Hwee liek khaaoass! As for Fabius, i've kinda wanted him in an army, but his model is not to my tastes....might have to customize a helmet >_> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169900-thoughts-on-fabius-bile/page/2/#findComment-2015415 Share on other sites
Sköll Khan
Lol? Its not a power weapon, and indeed I4 and no invulnerable save hurts. This would mean that for example Vulkan slices him before you even hit. And no power weapon means enemy characters will probably have a 3+ or even 2+ feel no pain save. But he still has an "instant death" weapon, and the "xyclos needler" wounds on a 2+ (admittedly he has to hit them first), plus a load of attacks... ...you forgot his main weakness... at heart he's one of those frilly, pink, make-up wearing fun boys (E's C), though he tries to distance himself from them. I say he's awesome in terms of fluff, so take him for fun, but he was far better in 3rd, when he was experimenting on himself aswell Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169900-thoughts-on-fabius-bile/page/2/#findComment-2020539 Share on other sites

LuNCHBiZZLe
he would be good if he had an invulnerable as of now hes just waitin to die, before 5th he had FNP and it was good but after the rule change it doesn't make up for no invulnerable.
