Aqatone
I really like those. I'm a sucker for old marks of armour and you've done a nice job with them ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169910-oasis-sons-combat-squad/#findComment-2006403 Share on other sites
blood_raven_240
I really like those. I'm a sucker for old marks of armour and you've done a nice job with them ;) Agreed. Not only is the DiY Chapter Scheme absolutely ace, you've done a really nice job with the conversions too. Reading through your Blog, I don't think the wrists are bad at all. If you're not happy with them, though, you could just GS a nice smooth layer around them, that'd look a bit better. I think they're fine though. Very nice pose on the Veteran Sergeant, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing some more of these guys. What do you have planned for your 1,000 Points? OnlyInDeath
While I wasn't all that sure on the name of the Chapter, gotta say I'm loving the conversions and the color scheme. Spot on! Stuart
Thanks everyone, glad you guys like them. @ Blood_Raven: This is gonna be a Drop Pod army (I've never had an army based around Deep Strike, so I thought it'd be a nice change). I think it's going to be 2 squads of 10 Tacticals, a Captain, and a Venerable Dread all in Pods. I added it up roughly yesterday and found that's gonna leave me with about 100 points to spare, so I'm currently leaning towards tossing in 3 Biker Scouts with Grenade Launchers to fill out the list. Of course, this summer I'll probably only get around to the Marines, as I have so many projects on the backburner that I don't really want to be out buying new stuff for this army. @ Fonejaker: They're actually pretty easy. Over a white basecoat and using VGC paints... - Blue: Give them two washes of Night Blue (about 2:1 water:paint), highlighted with Magic Blue. Wash them with the Asurmen Blue Citadel Wash (might need 2 coats). I think I must have messed up this process somewhere with the Sergeant, but the other Marines give you a good idea of that outcome. - Green: Paint the desired shape in Sick Green. Highlight edges of shape with Scorpy Green. Fill in some of the shape with Dark Green (mine's a little watered down). - Metal: Gunmetal Metal, then Silver, wash with Badab Black Citadel Wash. - Eyes: Gory Red, then Bloody Red, then Firey Orange, then Sunburst Yellow. White dot at the top, and go with some gloss varnish. That about sums them up. Pretty straightforward, but I think it yields pretty good tabletop quality results. More C&C welcome. Tyrannicide
These guys look cool, reminds me of the Badab-camo schemes some Chapters used. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169910-oasis-sons-combat-squad/#findComment-2006858 Share on other sites

Captain Mike
These are rather good. Nice mix of different marks of armour, and a nice colour scheme. The wrists aren't perfect, but they are not bad. Good job. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/169910-oasis-sons-combat-squad/#findComment-2007589 Share on other sites
