Actual Scale Movie Marines

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just thought I'd post a new (and separate) topic for my movie marines as I won't be painting them in metallics - so they don't fit in Viva Metallica ;)

I've done the first member - the hero:

I just need to fill in his right upper leg then he is finished and ready for painting. As for painting, I was thinking of painting the squad in Imperial Fist colours.

What do you guys think?

P.S. Thanks Doghouse :P

Yeah go Fists! But I would say that...

I like it anyway. I would probably be inclined to paint a movie marines squad as one of the lesser featured chapters, something you could really sink your teeth into paint-wise. If you want to stick with a yellow theme you could go Lamenters, as they have all that nice checkered detail that you can add (fits in nicely with the BA suggestion from daemon hunter too hehe)

I thought it would have been a bad thing to ask for such rules over the site.

These rules aren't from a codex or the rule book but rather from White Dwarf so I think they fall into the 'its safe to ask' domain. Sort of like Apocalypse rules.

The Hero has alot of potential. But the head doesn't seem to work for me. Doesn't look battle hardened, but thats just me. The power fist makes it seem all the more appropriate to make this guy an IF or maybe a CF that is out to open up a can of kick ass on some Orks.

I hope you're not talking about mine there. I've just had a lot to paint lately, I'll have some more up soon.

Good look for the first guy. Can you do a scale pic so I can see him next to a normal marine? I'm just having trouble seeing the true scale on him.

By the way, in the American WD 300, it is "Dude" rather than "Hero." I don't know if they changed that for the British WD 301 version, but the translation has that messed up. And the WD rules are to be had on Dakka Dakka if you look hard enough.

So that everyone reading this is clear; Games Workshop not only owns the rights to the contents of their own material but also the rights of distribution. Therefore, downloading any such material from anywhere other than an official Games Workshop site is in violation of their IP.

So it doesn’t matter if the content came from a White Dwarf, a GW website or photocopied from a rule book. If GW puts up content for free download, you can point to that link freely. Otherwise it cannot be distributed via the B&C or any other fan site for that matter.

Anyone may feel free to PM me if you have any questions on this subject.

Carry on.

It's a pity the primer means we can't make out the details, but I like the look of this guy a lot. His pose is characterful and he looks like a battle-hardened campaigner. Could someone please explain to me the idea of 'movie marines' (I've not been around for some time)? :P

Thanks - I'll be re-priming him white once I've finished the leg it'll be a lot clearer.

As for Movie Marines: Once apon a time in a White Dwarf studio far away... a bunch of guys thought it would be fun to see how marines would be if they were to star in their own movie - someone made an army list and these are the result. UBER MARINES OF DEATH!

Sorry to go off topic, but how do you paint your guardsmen?

No probs - skull white base, followed by 2 washes of Gryphonne Sephia for the armour and 2 washes of Badab Black for the cloth. ;)
