JMcL63
As for Movie Marines: Once apon a time in a White Dwarf studio far away... a bunch of guys thought it would be fun to see how marines would be if they were to star in their own movie - someone made an army list and these are the result. UBER MARINES OF DEATH! Ah, well it seems you did a very good job interpreting that, because he certainly has that kind of style, as my previous remarks suggest. Movie marines, hmm... :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170254-actual-scale-movie-marines/page/2/#findComment-2016290 Share on other sites
Rahveel
awesome! Ive been working on a unit of my own movie-marines (night lords) in true-scale. only have one finished (started actually, as he was/is for another project as well). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v136/Rahveel/40k/SANY1094.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170254-actual-scale-movie-marines/page/2/#findComment-2019886 Share on other sites
metcalfedan
;) Me likey! Now all we need to do is make a film for each and then finish the trilogy with an EPICLY explosive ending :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170254-actual-scale-movie-marines/page/2/#findComment-2019891 Share on other sites
Rahveel
Thanks! They will be trashing orks this summer. If possible, I will try to create some narrative battle reps, would be cool to set up a Movie marine, for lack of a better term, 'fan club' (actually, seems appropriate). Might be difficult to do an actual movie, but comic-style bat-reps might be cool. Thanks for the complement btw. he was originally meant to just be a renegade from the crimson fists (for an =][=munda campaign), but I have been hankering to build up some night lords, so have bitz in rout to make him and the rest of the squad so. metcalfedan
Thanks dude :D I'm actually debating whether to do the whole squad as Imperial Fists of to have each marine in different chapter colours... Still not sure though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170254-actual-scale-movie-marines/page/2/#findComment-2030383 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
any chance of getting rid of the antenna? It doesn't really look right on a marine. Death Guard-ian
Basically. When you play with them (if you do, many people just have them as sort of like "showcase models") They get stats that represent a marines capabilities in the fluff. So a vet sarge has a 10 WS and a 10 BS or siomething Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170254-actual-scale-movie-marines/page/2/#findComment-2032168 Share on other sites
Captain Mike
Sorry Met, but MOULDLINES. Not as bad as some of the others ones you've made, but still. The yellow is good, however, and well scaled. Death Guard-ian
where do you see moldlines? I only see them on the helmat, and your probably not going to look there while looking at the models itself Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170254-actual-scale-movie-marines/page/2/#findComment-2032617 Share on other sites
metcalfedan
where do you see moldlines? I only see them on the helmat, and your probably not going to look there while looking at the models itself There are actually mould lines on the helmet, the top of his head (they are pretty well hidden due to the pics), the side of the PF by his thumb, and both sides of each leg - but the legs were just because this was my first attempt at filling in the gaps so I put too much stuff in. (see last picture) As well as a few more spots I haven't mentioned - I wanna see if anyone else notices them :) Thanks for the replies guys, I've started cutting and filing and stuff on the next guy, but I'm out of plastic glue at the moment so production has slowed right down. Brother_Zach
I'm gonna say there's some on the antanae to. Rahveel
great work! random question for you (or anyone who plays movie marines), how do you plan to interpret the flamer rules? Captain Mike
Those flamer rules were wierd. Anyway. I've also noticed thier is no shoulder trim. A tiny detail, I admit. Just noticed. But I'll balance that with a question. What is the torso? Terminator or Marine? JMcL63
I'm gonna say there's some on the antanae to. As a guard player, I've broken many vox casters dealing with them :P With plastic models, I've long found using emery boards to be the ideal solution: It doesn't matter if the plastic clogs the emery boards the way it will with metal files, because the emery boards are cheap and easily replacable. The emery boards can be cut to shape with scissors to create a variety of sizes and shapes suitable for all the jobs you'll need to do. They are softer than either metal files or knife blades, so I'd imagine that their use would lead to less breakages of fragile plastic parts (this has certainly not been a major problem for me down the years). Hope this helps. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170254-actual-scale-movie-marines/page/2/#findComment-2033088 Share on other sites
metcalfedan
great work! random question for you (or anyone who plays movie marines), how do you plan to interpret the flamer rules? How do you mean? I'll be making a flamer marine for sure - much like this guy but with a flamer. Those flamer rules were wierd. Anyway. I've also noticed thier is no shoulder trim. A tiny detail, I admit. Just noticed. But I'll balance that with a question. What is the torso? Terminator or Marine? Yeah, I didn't quite know how best to do it, so I didn't bother. Doesn't look too bad does it? I mean there are now shoulder pads on the Marines in DOW2... Oh, and the torso is a terminator one, with the top cut off and moved up slghtly.
