Lemainus
Trying my hand at power weapons. For a while, I thought maybe I'd be doing purple PW, but I decided that it'd be just too much friggin purple So green it is. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a126/JohnnyK3886/Picture36-1.jpg Different angle http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a126/JohnnyK3886/Picture37.jpg Up-a-close http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a126/JohnnyK3886/Picture39.jpg Glowy-eye effect picture http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a126/JohnnyK3886/Picture38.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170466-kitbash-2nd-company-commander/ Share on other sites
Wolf Priest Haelaeif
Yes, if you had painted them purple, there would have been too much friggin purple indeed. This way, they look very cool. I may have to steal the design, albeit use it with yellow. Terminatorinhell
the sword in his right hand is from the "Assault on Black Reach" commander. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170466-kitbash-2nd-company-commander/#findComment-2014018 Share on other sites
Heru
I suggest painting the rim of the base, black or dark brown for added contrast. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170466-kitbash-2nd-company-commander/#findComment-2014242 Share on other sites
Lemainus
the sword in his right hand is from the "Assault on Black Reach" commander. Mhm to get it situated properly just took a little snipping action; I used the right shoulder of the Sergeant, cut it off at the elbow, and then attached the commander's sword bit to it and it became a cohesive right arm. (Just in case anyone wanted to know) You COULD just use the sergeant arm, but then he'dve had a powersword and chainsword, and that would look well lame Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170466-kitbash-2nd-company-commander/#findComment-2014358 Share on other sites
Lemainus
I suggest painting the rim of the base, black or dark brown for added contrast. I've never messed with the sides of my bases before. (Just paint them like the tops) What kind of dark brown recipe do you recommend? Commander Proteus
I like the colors, and a very clean paintjob. Actually, the model reminds me of Doel from Legend of Dragoon! :) -P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170466-kitbash-2nd-company-commander/#findComment-2014366 Share on other sites

(Just paint them like the tops) What kind of dark brown recipe do you recommend? Any, I personally just go with black. Doesn't detract from the model and doesn't clash either. What you end up with is the model, the scenic stuff on top of the base, and a void that doesn't drag attention away from the other two. What I notice about your model there is that the base's green edge / rim seems to take away some of the focus of the swords' green. Lemainus
I gave straight black a shot, and I have to say, I like it. The green pops more; you were absolutely right. Thanks a lot! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170466-kitbash-2nd-company-commander/#findComment-2014499 Share on other sites
AngryJohnny
Can you give us a parts list, most of them I can identify, but I'm not sure on the torso & the talbard. Lemainus
Yeah, sure. The body is the metal Veteran (pose 1, I think?) with a powersword from the Commander box set, the right shoulder of the Sarge from AoBR, the right-hand sword of the Commander from AoBR, and the commander backpack from AoBR. The Heraldry shield on his stomach is off an AoBR termie - but you can find those on bits shops now, too, to avoid having to do all the snip-snip. The little eagle decal on his left shoulder is one of the blingcessories from the Commander's box set... ...aaaaand that's that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170466-kitbash-2nd-company-commander/#findComment-2015737 Share on other sites
