Hey guys, started this army ages ago, but due to work and exams didnt have much time to work on it. But now with study leave ive managed o get a fair bit done. Anyways, while trawling the site looking for ideas i came across metcalfedan's metallic scheme (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=151098) and decided i liked and wanted an army painted like it, also it makes an barely average painter's models look ok, so thanks for the tut on that metcalfedan, so here we go:

Basic captain, took ages to make as i had to wait for the thunderhammer and storm shield to arrived, and then filing them took ages, the casts were made back in 2002 i think:

And the stormshield, which i decided to greenstuf a fist onto, thnk it worked ok:

Then theres the BT Ass Termie squad, who have come along to fight with the captain who they have fought with previously, shown by their red-fists and the BT crosses on the caps banner

And now the 1st tacical squad:

Range combat squad

ANd a closeup of the sarge's weapon, which is just a chainsword in game, but figured itd look nice, and i had changed my list, he originlly had a fist, so i made this instead of ripping the fist off:

So theres the pics, any pointers on how to make the next squad better would be appreciated,

cheers

SO i finshed a devastator squad, and also my converted telion model. Also took some more pics of the captain, as the others were a bit shiny due to the flash, the new ones are better...

You like your bayonets don't you? Never thought I would see one on a plasma cannon.

They're looking pretty good. What are you going to do with the bases? Are you going to continue with the rock theme from Telion?

I would also advise a needle file for the mold lines.

Something about the red on the plasma cannon hoses and the captain's crux terminatus just doesn't do it for me. It seems out of place, too much of a clash.

Yeah, the bayonets are fun...

For the base its more likely to be a muddy theme with a few rocks here and there, also using the water effects, a proper war as opposed to a clean one XD

Yeah, i wasnt overly keen on the power line for the cannon, i painted that colour to keep in line with the plug sockets in the uk, Red is live, green earth and blue neutral, but it hasnt really worked, maybe a more subtlecolour wold be better, a brownie-green maybe?

as for the one on the crux, it was to add more depth to it, as the cast itself made it very indistguinshable (if thats a word) so it was more to shot that the badge was a design on the shoulder, not a silver blob, any ideas on a more subtle colour?

And metcalfedan, both for the compliment and the tutorial in the first place, its a great way of making models stand out, a truely inspired technique XD
