Kyley
How do inquisitors get power armour, do they do something fancy and the AdMech gifts them with it, also, they presumably don't have a black carapace, so is it put on like sob's get it? Thanks -KYLEY Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170511-inquisitors-in-power-armour/ Share on other sites
Grand Master Tyrak
Kyley Posted Today, 06:09 PM How do inquisitors get power armour, do they do something fancy and the AdMech gifts them with it, also, they presumably don't have a black carapace, so is it put on like sob's get it? They get it how they get everything - favours. Although the rules don't show it (they're not detailed enough), power armour worn by normal humans isn't as good as Astartes power armour. It's not as tough so that they can bear the (reduced) weight. If it was Astartes power armour, they'd just collapse under the weight. Aeternus_90
I thought it was more that it actually feels like wearing a suit of armor rather then a second skin like it is for marines. The armor is still powered, thats why its called power armor, its just not as natural for them, I mean an inquisitor can even have terminator armor like that forge world one does if their influential (or rich) enough. Because theirs no black carapace its not as natural, but it will still act as power armor, just not as efficient as it would be for marines Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170511-inquisitors-in-power-armour/#findComment-2014370 Share on other sites
Kaled100
Yes, it's still power armour, but as well as the interface being very different it's also a lot smaller. Looking at the 28mm range, humans and Astartes are quite similar in size, but fluff-wise (and in the 54mm range) the difference is striking. Take the 54mm Chaos Magus Mynarc model - his armour is superficially quite similar to that worn by Artemis, the Deathwatch Captain, but stand the two together and the size difference is immediately obvious. To answer the last part of Kyley's query, yes presumably the power armour worn by Inquisitors uses the same (or a similar) interface to that used by the Sororitas. The emperors chosen
An Inquisitors power armor is like a Sob's power armor, not as powerful as a space marine, but still really good. Yeril
The way I like to think of it is, Space marines are only Strength 3.5 and Toughness 3.5 naturally, so the effectiveness of SM power armour over standard is the boost to S4 and T4. Also it should be noted, that PA without black carapace is incredibly expensive to maintain, meaning only the very powerful (Inquisitors) or very very rich (Sisters of Battle Funded by the Ecclesiarchy (sp?)) can afford it. DarKHaZZ13
the SoB and SM tend to wear powered power armour That backpack isnt for looks...its a mini reactor which keeps them moving and fighting for months, even years on end now a SM can go without a reactor quite a while but your average human/SoB probably wouldn't be able to wear power armour for too long wihtout a reactor so they make "smaller" versions the human grade power armour game terms = same protection... if you Dark Heresy then you'll know its not as good You can't wear it for too long (no reactor...and your only human) and although it offers awesome protection...its nothing compared to that of marine armour but hey in 40k these things dont matter so enjoy the 3+ save  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170511-inquisitors-in-power-armour/#findComment-2014908 Share on other sites
