Tales of Heresy short story collection +++ Spoilers +++

I must purchase this one.

I read somewhere that the emperor shows up with a different appearance. Is that true ?

Sort of. He crops up in both Blood Games and The Last Church. Whilst its fairly obvious in both, it's still handled very well, and continues the theme that whilst the Emperor is basically in it for the good of humanity, he is still a fairly unpleasant character.

I quite enjoyed this book! I liked them all for different reasons which will take too long to list haha! I am also of the opinion that After De'Shea was my favourite though I won't go on about what I thought was the best or worst book. I thought they all had their individual qualities about them. I quite like the Dark Angels story because of Astelan. Having only recently read Angels of Darkness I for some reason got really excited when I realised where I recognised his name from! Now I am reading Fallen Angels and he is also in that I have really taken to his character!! They all give good acounts I feel, having known nothing really about the SW or WB, I have to say I have learned about them both and the more and more I read the HH novels, I can't really say I now have a favourite legion. Each book brings their own perspective and I also feel it depends on the writer. Not their ability to write, but their own fondness of a particular legion. I was at GD 08 and Ben Counter said he really really liked the WE and wanted to write another novel about them after he worte BfTA. Guess it just depends on what people want from a 40K book. Most people sound like they want the books to be 100% spot on with the fluff. Me personally, I have slated Descent of Angels and BfTA in the past but there was still aspects about both books I really liked. I like the HH series overall as a whole because all I want to do is unplug after work. I work in London and travel 2 hours in and 2 hours out every day and it is a pain! All I want to do is chill out and read a HH book without picking the bones out of it saying if this or that would really happen or if the wrtting style is good or not. I like them all for different reasons and it is a personal choice I guess really, what is it that we are looking for from a particular book? I just enjoy them because I am a sci fi geek and just enjoy the diversity of each race/legion whatever. I also am very intrigued reading everyone elses opinions and looking to see what other people get out of them and also how some people get real passionate over certain isues. This is another reason why at 26, I am still a huge 40K fan since I got into it at 7 years of age!!!!
