Skoby
I've finally managed to get some painting finished for my DIY chapter, I've got a tactical squad 75% finished but for now here's my count-as Lysander. I don't think of myself as a good painter but I'm happy with this model, although I will probably redo/remove the freehand from the cape. Hopefully the pics aren't too bad, the colour is slightly off, due to poor lighting. Anyway, here it is: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/7637/lysander1.jpg http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/503/lysander2.jpg http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9551/lysander5.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170650-lysander-for-my-diy-chapter/ Share on other sites
Chaos Lord Shamrockius
Wow! Cool work, especially on the detail and the cloak... having a chaos army, I end up with lots of p**s poor looking cloaks and need to work on that. But this I like, even if it is Loyalist! ;) :jaw:    Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170650-lysander-for-my-diy-chapter/#findComment-2017494 Share on other sites
Vel'Cona
Nah the freehand is pretty nice actually. The base stands out well too. You may just benefit from thinning your paints a bit more and going for several thin coats, though you seem to have a solid technique. Trial and error is the name of the game. Skoby
Thanks for the comments <_<. Yeah I do try to thin my paints but sometimes they are a bit too thick and if I thin them too much I find it harder to control the paint. He's taking part in an "arena of death" for special charactors tomorrow, hopefully he will do well, and more importantly wont get manhandelled by unsupervised kids =\ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170650-lysander-for-my-diy-chapter/#findComment-2019815 Share on other sites
