I'm really liking the Scheme, and it looks like it would be pretty fun to paint, and also quick too! Keep it up, looks fantastic. Another thing that I'd give a shot to that may improve bases, is paint the plastic around the outside, so it's not just black. If you paint it say.. a brown(bestial) and paint the base flock black dry brushed codex grey, it should be a nice contrast from not only the ring around the base, but your mini's aswell.
