GTang
Do you think the WH Inquisitor Retinue character named Penitent creates a profile increase with its increased save versus psychers? GTang
...which matters because the IL and retinue would keep its 2+ save against psychic powers after the Penitents died if that's how it was thought of. Eddie Orlock
Unless I'm misunderstanding you, it reads like you're going to physically name a model 'Penitent', either by painting a name plaque on it or some other similarly permanent method and then attempt to rule-monger your way into an unpaid for edge. It reads like your attempting some very dubious shenanigans. ... Or you're just plain incoherent. ValourousHeart
Oh come on Eddie, it is obvious what he is saying and thinking. Let me translate for you. What he was thinking was this -- Warrior, Sage and Familiar henchmen increase the stat line of the =I= and =I= lord. And the =I= and lord keeps these bonuses even after the henchmen is killed. What he said was this -- The penitent henchman in C:WH gives the =I= a 4+ save (2+ if 2 are taken) vs. psychic powers. Is that a stat increase like the warrior... and therefore =I= would get to keep it after the penitents die? Is that about right GTang? The answer to that question is -- No you do not keep the 2+ nullify You should think of the penitent's ability as being similar to the mystic's ability. The mystic allows either the =I= unit or a nearby unit to shoot at a deep striking unit. If all of the mystics in the =I= unit are killed the player loses that ability. The same goes for the penitent, you lose the ability if they die. *edit* spell check Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170838-penitent-comment/#findComment-2018988 Share on other sites
GTang
Yes, that's it. I thought about it some more and kind of agree, since the save doesn't apply only to shooting powers used against these guys. So it couldn't be considered a stat increase of the retinue's armor even though it looks and sounds similar in a lot of ways.
