kaiserstole20
Honor guard and command squads specifically state that they do not take up HQ slots but there's nothing about servitors. Am I right to assume they require an elite slot? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170901-do-servitors-take-up-an-elite-slot/ Share on other sites
Cadarn
Don't believe so. You cannot take them independantly of the Techmarine, so I believe they class as a retinue for him, thus do not take up an extra slot. I agree that makes sense, but it doesn't say that anywhere that I can find. :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170901-do-servitors-take-up-an-elite-slot/#findComment-2019441 Share on other sites
Isiah
No they don't take a separate Elite slot as they are part of the techie's slot. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170901-do-servitors-take-up-an-elite-slot/#findComment-2019506 Share on other sites
kaiserstole20
No they don't take a separate Elite slot as they are part of the techie's slot. I'm probably being dense - but where does it say that? On the honor guard and command squad entries they go out of their way to say that those units don't count against the HQ limit. There's nothing like that on the servitors. The best I've got is that the servitor entry is in a grey box like the other 'upgrade' units. But there's no official 'grey box in a codex = upgrade' rule afaik. Are we just assuming that's true for servitors because it makes sense or does it actually say that anywhere? Wolf Priest Haelaeif
The german version is rather specific on this. It says "The unit does not count against the maximum number of the army's elite- or HQ-choices". kaiserstole20
Ah ok - this has been changed (as errata) on the GW website to read like the German version of the codex. Thanks for the replies all! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170901-do-servitors-take-up-an-elite-slot/#findComment-2019680 Share on other sites
Bannus
Also, you'll notice that the Servitors are in their own "shaded" box. What do all shaded box entries have in common? Answer: They are outside the normal FOC limitations.
