WG Vrox Posted June 12, 2009 Share Posted June 12, 2009 LRR, Vindis, Plasma Cannons, Plasma Guns/Pistols, Melta Guns, Power Weapons/Fists. Where we excel against SM is in Close Combat where our power weapon/gear options for troops and ICs give us a slight advantage over our SM brothern, Storm Sheilds are a must on ICs and Runic Charms for our WG. Though we pay through the nose for our terminators, they also will have a slight advantage if you do a SS/PW or FB combo, as we get our hits in at I-4 while they have to wait for I-1 for PF and TH. So load up some Grey Hunters with Power weapons, Melta Guns and Plasma Pistols put them in a Rhino lead by a kick butt HQ with SS/FB and go to town. WG Vrox. And it's only 250 points if you give them siege shields. Grey Mage Posted June 13, 2009 Share Posted June 13, 2009 *snort* Bring lots of GHs and enjoy having twice as many attacks as them in CC. Be sure to pack a bit of plasma and melta for good effect. Bring Wolf Gaurd in TDA with storm shields and the odd assault cannon, and enjoy watching jaws drop. Dont forget the DP! Bring a Vendread HQ, to help on that first turn and for a second Jaw-drop. Feel free to bring some attack bikes with multimeltas so you can get any heavy armor they bring- like those silly quadruple landraider lists. And a squad of Wolf Scouts with two power weapons, meltagun and plasma pistol... thatll let you deal with any and all heavy support or tactical squads they might leave in the backfield. But joking aside, we are kind of custom made to take out other PA'd foes considering all the ap2/save negating weaponry we have. Good stuff, have an ale on me ;) I find OBEL wolf scouts are also very effective against marines since there always seems to be a loitering target (whirlwind, predator, devastator squad etc) for them to mess with. Other than that, vindicators, plasma guns, power weapons, frost blades and lots of troops in rhinos/drop pods as mentioned above.
