CordovaLemonSlayer
So, I've been working on this project for a few weeks now. Its a warlord titan made out of cardboard. Now I know what your thinking ("Out of cardboard?!?!?! this is gonna suck!) But the pics speak for themselves. I think im doing a fairly decent job so far. hate/praise is appreciated. THANKS! http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1722-1.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1701.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1702.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1703.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1707.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1708.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1717.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1718.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1719.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1720.jpg http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/wolfwood277/100_1721.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170972-wip-warlord-titan/ Share on other sites
CordovaLemonSlayer
The other titans are there to show the scale of the warlord. It stands tall at about 40" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170972-wip-warlord-titan/#findComment-2020209 Share on other sites
DuskRaider
Someone likes Pizza Hut, haha. Awesome though, certainly more adept at scratch building then I am. sgtNACHO
Go stand next to it, I know the scale and everything but it just looks so unrealistcally large its unfathomable. Please go pose with it, I can't believe how big that beast is. Oh and good job so far Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170972-wip-warlord-titan/#findComment-2020232 Share on other sites
CordovaLemonSlayer
I'll take a shot of me standing next to it and upload it soon. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170972-wip-warlord-titan/#findComment-2020762 Share on other sites
Firenze
2 problems. It is made of card board. The legs are a little stumpy. Other than that, looks great! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170972-wip-warlord-titan/#findComment-2020982 Share on other sites
Freakiq
The lower legs needs to be almost twice as long as they are now. Other than that it looks great. Shortsonfire79
2 problems. It is made of card board. The legs are a little stumpy. Other than that, looks great! Thats what I noticed too. But, instead of the cardboard, I think the second problem is.. YOU HAVE 4 UNPAINTED TITANS!!! Whyyy!!!!!??!?!!!?!!??! Looking good, make sure you use some glue to close up the "corrugated" part of the cardboard before you finish. Messanger of Death
The shins do look too small but other then that I think he looks amazing. As long as the surface is smooth no one will know its cardboard once the paint goes on it. Looking forward to seeing him finished and may your sanity stay in one piece. Messanger Edit - thought you might like to see this if you haven't already...Warlord Titan. Raven Angel
I think it might be too tall at 40'' but it looks great and there no way I'd say start over to get the hight perfect. We will just nickname it the "MegaLord Pattern" From the Cordova Forge World Titan Legion. koran
Its is looking very nice. 40" is actually too tall according to both epic models (ok we know their scaling is horrific a lot of the time) and any stats you will find in GW cannon. 40" is closer to what an Imperator would be! I believe a warlord should actually be around 20" if you average the stats from GW sources but I made mine about 25" cos it looked more right to me. Then an Imperator should be about a reaver titan taller than that (so going of FW scale thats 41"). Im not being a fluff Nazi here but it depends how close to the fluff you want to be. If people want to argue scales with me we can but I did a LOT of looking when I was trying to make mine (something I ran out of funds for but will start up again one day). Im telling you this cos it gives you a great opportunity in my mind. and if your going to sort out the legs then your half way there so make the legs more bulky and work on putting a fortress on top. Bang youve made yourself an Imperator instead of those lame small scale warlords ;p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170972-wip-warlord-titan/#findComment-2021286 Share on other sites
CordovaLemonSlayer
Yeah, i noticed that too. The card board does look a little plain right now, buts thats just because i havent added any detail yet. The way to make it not look like card board when you paint it is. 1. mix a 50/50 mix of elmers glue and water 2. coat the whole model with it (thats so it leaves a small layer of plastic-like material on the surface.) 3. spray paint wont soak in now that there is a covering 4.Paint and enjoy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/170972-wip-warlord-titan/#findComment-2021639 Share on other sites
