Dusktiger
so this is my first mini that i've tried highlighting. it was done with a basecoat of knarloc green over a previously painted mini, then i did reaper Brilliant Green over that, and highlighted with Viper Green. the shoulders and calves are Reaper Adamantium Black, and the 5th company trim is thamar black Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171040-first-attempt-at-highlighting/ Share on other sites
Kable
For a first attempt at highlighting that's pretty good! I remember my first try at it and your first go puts mine to shame. The only advice i can offer you i guess for now is to practice. The more your practice the better you will become as with all aspects of the hobby. Arch«•»Angel
working on highlights, the first thing i would recommend you to work on are thinner lines. otherwise, pretty good for a first try though. hope to see more Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171040-first-attempt-at-highlighting/#findComment-2021223 Share on other sites
chris-kirky
ye you definately need to thin down your highlights alot. also make sure that you still water down your paints as normal. The highlight is a bit bright compared to the base coat so try to get more of a mid-tone between the two colours. keep practicing and you will be a pro in no time :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171040-first-attempt-at-highlighting/#findComment-2021528 Share on other sites
