Warhorse47
Yup, I'm gonna build him and I'm looking for ideas. I've got the head with beard already, so that's good, but he is described as the biggest Space Wolf most have ever seen. I've thickened a torso with sheet stock and will GS it and am thinking about using termie legs, The chest will also be widened with sheet styrene. What am I missing or overlooking? Any and all suggestions [with the exception of Argon's :pirate: ] are welcome! OnlyInDeath
Well, I wont swing the exterminatusock right now, but I will point out that there's been a few threads about this w/ pics posted :pirate: Other than that, he has a mix of termie and power armor, to make up for his size (I mean, this dude is head and shoulders above Ragnar, so prolly even bigger than a truescale marine). Massive thunder hammer for a weapon, unkempt hair/beard (beard w/ bits of food in it). Many ppl did him with a bucket on his foot, wielding a flask that is fashioned out of a meltabomb. Warhorse47
My search fu was not working earlier evidently. Now I find a lot of links, I'll get a fresh keg of Wolf Whiz Ale for missing that. Hey Vash, all your Haegr pics are gone, care to post some new ones? Blckbuster
I'm so out of the loop, there's a space wolf bigger than the legendary Wolf Gaurd Ranulf? the one that dragged his squads landraider into a lava flow so they could pass? the one that even dominated the Ork battle ego and they worshiped him like a god? does this guy arm wrestle Bjorn? Hfran Morkai
Well thunder hammer is obvious but something less obvious is a pair of holstered bolt pistols, from the part when assaulting the asteroid. I was going to create the Wolfblades for Kill-team but then 5th was released without kill-team, I hope they'll release it as an expansion with lots of different missions and more points to spend on kit 160 points for wolves sucked. I like the bucket idea. You planning on sticking anything in his beard? TeamLando
This might help you a bit: http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/5347/haegroa7.jpg I did Haegr a couple of years ago... this is my version of him. The hammer's from a Chaos Warrior, the older version, and the drinking horn's from a chaos marine's helmet. The head, beard and beer barrels made out of green stuff :) Wanted him too look fat and hungy ;P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171052-suggestions-for-haegr-the-mountain/#findComment-2021347 Share on other sites

Haegr is a massive wolf, to be sure. Ranulf was the largest wolf ever, almost as large as Russ himself, so no, he isn't that big. That said, Haegr is so big he doesnt fit in power armor and has to have a custom suit that's patched together from various fitting parts of termie and power armor, and he actually is a bit fat for a marine, as he has something of a metabolic problem where he can literally eat and drink the Fang die, but still not be satisfied. Not to mention he has one of the best personalities ever written. I really hope they have a model/rules for this guy in the upcoming dex. Warhorse47
Yup, Haegr is a "large and in charge" type of personality. I agree, it would sure be a lot of fun to have him as a character in the new codex. Hfran Morkai
^Seconded. I would love to see the wolfblade in the new dex but it wouldn't make sense. However if GW release an expansion for kill-team which was very popular so I reckon they should I could see a lot of wolves running the wolfblades. Just remember to model a pair of bolt pistols as said before, most people forget about them because they are barely mentioned. Coverfire
I have to admit that I never used the Wolf Gaurd Ranulf because he was suppose to be deceased. But I would like to see a return of him or someone like him in the new codex, however, Bjorn is the character I want to see return most of all so I can live without Ranulf. But I do love the idea of the Wolf Blade. With every comment read, I plunge deeper into the SW awesomeness. I would almost slap myself for ever thinking that the Leather-clad DeSades in space were kinda cool... And by the way - I believe Haegr should either have a giant piece of meat (a ham or something) clunched in the fist - or even better, he should be eating it. Beef
He should be modelled to look like oblix from the aterix commics, BIg and round like that with a boar in one hand and a thunder hammer in the other with a tankard of ale that he carries with him. @ TEAM LANDO your model needs to be fatter, However I am really impressed by something you have added to your model thats so simple its been overlooked by so many SW painters over the years. The yellow wolf like eyes. Man that looks awsome. I will defionatly have to do that next time I paint my mini's Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171052-suggestions-for-haegr-the-mountain/#findComment-2022739 Share on other sites

Well he IS Obelix. We are not talking a striking resemblance, but an exact copy. (At least as we meet him in Wolfblade. I have not read further.) I think he is way over the top and into funny comics. Even for Space wolves. I enjoy the ale and feast and all this people model on their tanks and objectives, but introducing Haegr into the codex will kill the serious part. OnlyInDeath
But that's kinda the point. The wolves arent 100% serious. There's always an aspect of us that's poking fun at ourselves. That's one reason why I think that everyone likes Haegr so much, is that he brings out that side of us, past the point of even Sven to be able to. But also, when it gets down to kicking butt, there's nothing he thinks he cant handle and he sews a carnage that is unmatched by ANYone. Also, it doesnt mean we'd have to have zombie Haegr if he's featured. The SW dex is supposed to let you represent SW's from any era of their history should you choose.
