Daren
I had this idea a few days ago and while I'm not sure if it could be done good. I figured I'd post it to see what everyone else thought. ( Sorry if this or something similar has already been suggested ) But would anyone else besides myself be interested in a book being written for each Primarch. It'd show their origins from landing on their respective planets and growing up until their meeting with the Emperor. It could even cover their first conquest at the head of their legion. Now there are a few problems with this idea. Like figuring out who would write them and which Primarchs they'd write about. Or the fact that I'm not sure they could do this with out alienating some fans. Because despite best efforts I'm sure some people won't be happy with how their favorite was portrayed. Now lets take a moment of wishful thinking and say by some miracle this actually happens. After the first set of books is done. I'd like to see a follow up book on each Primarch that either focus's on what they did post heresy, or what they did in the final days of the heresy before dieing. For example the book on Ferrus Manus could focus solely on him and his exploits up to his untimely end. Instead of him getting a bit of the spotlight in the Fulgrim novel. Anyway just an idea I had that I thought I might share with everyone. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171199-the-primarchs/ Share on other sites
Raven Angel
Its probly not a good idea because some of their pre emperor explotes are pretty epic and mith like in scope. Any realistic book would tair all that down. It would takway all the mith. Some people would be very pissed about that. chunky04
Before reading Descent of Angels I'd have said yes. Now I'm not so sure. The problem with that book for me was it was basically a story that had already been told in a shorter form. The details added didn't really add anything to the story IMO, certainly not compared with what my own imagination had already conjured. I do think its possible, but you'd need an excellent author to pull it off, which lets face it, those sorts of people aren't going to be doing 40K novels. Part of the reason 40K fluff is so good is that it offers enough interesting concepts and ideas while allowing us to fil in our own spin on things in the gaps.
