Attackbike clarification

Was looking for rule clarfication on running a single attackbike.

1 If hit by a lascannon shot and wounds, I know it's a single model but has 2 figs, does instant death still apply and remove the model?

2 If hit by Bolter and causes one wound which is removed driver or gunner, if gunner is killed can the driver still steer & shoot multimelta or does he have to shoot TW Bolters?(was a game issue)FOC description is vague.

3 If hit by bolter and gunner is killed, and driver is in HTH does he still get 2 attacks or does it drop to 1A since gunner is dead?

Thanks in advace for feedback. And great gaming to all!!!!!

1. Instant Death applies. The whole model is removed as a casualty.

2. Neither is removed. The model takes one wound, and has one remaining.

3. See #2. The profile of the model is not affected by taking wounds. It functions at full capacity until both wounds are taken. When that happens, the whole model is removed.

Hello Alpha003 and welcome to the B&C:

Sounds like you’re getting very granular in your relationships between the physical model & the corresponding rules. Since there are 2 marines on an attack bike it would go to figure that each one corresponds to a single wound. Thankfully, 40K does not require you to keep track of things on that level of detail. The 2 wounds can as easily be viewed as the larger bike frame + additional armor plating along with the marine operators.

So as stated above; an attack bike is a single model that has 2 wounds. It operates at full capacity for both shooting and attacks until all wounds are removed. At this point, the entire model is removed as a causality.

Make sense? It really only does so from a 40K perspective but do you get it anyway?

Cheers, -OMG
