GKT squad and Canoness

I don't really need to tell you what I think, do I?

Said it on TF already and all that. ;)

Anyhow, as I said I think they look dusty, but it might be either camera or the highlights(as you said)...

And I just love the GKTs, especially the weapons(even more so since you said they glow in the dark) and the unit champion with the detachable arm and stuff.

Well I want more self-glowing NFWs!

Cheers!

Everyone seems impressed by the green, which is nice. :cuss I had my doubts about it... From the other thread;

Cheating, mostly. They were done the same chrome as the rest of the body, then I custom mixed a glaze with Future Floor Polish (AKA Klear), Scorpion Green, and GW's old Dark Green Ink. I did a couple of coats of it by hand so that it had a decent glossy sheen, then drybrushed with progressively lighter greens (scorpion and putrid + Bad Moon Yellow + White) as well as edging them. Then, once I'd done that I painted on another few coats of the custom glaze, then airbrushed about 5 thin coats of Gunze Sanjyo Mr Color Florescent green over the top, followed by a mix of the Florescent green and some glow-in-the-dark lacquer paint I got in Japan that's supposedly for painting fishing lures...

Yeah, so they're really green, even more so in person (and they literally glow in sunlight)! They look like the clear Necron rod parts, I'm considering trying to do similar things with blue, orange and pink for power/force/daemon weapons etc in future.

I'll warn now that brush-painting lacquer paints (like the Mr Colour) is not entirely impossible, but enough of a problem that it's not worth trying. :/ They will pick up any paint underneath, it's why I almost exclusively airbrush with them.

Here eye and sword glows too? O.o

Seriously man, give me that lacquer you use!

But I don't like the sword really... Looks... Chunky...

There's a really cool tutorial on how to do force weapons really easy using 3 paints.

Ah, here it is

Cheers!

Unfortunately I don't have enough to just give you some. :D I've named every paint I used, I think? Gunze Sanjo Mr Color florescent lacquers, I used the yellow and green. The other one is Gaia Notes florescent blue colour, and their florescent clear (which glows blue). You can just use Claire's Accessories' UV nail polish instead, though it needs a lot more thinning. Unfortunately, as I noted elsewhere, it's now really hard to find the Gunze stuff online, I went looking for some (to see if there was a blue colour) and all the places I used to order it from years ago no longer stock it.

Is it the sword itself you dislike or the paintjob? The other thread (and the one on TF) have had the unlit pictures, too.

Also, thanks for the link! Not bad for 3 paints and 30 seconds...

Right, just for some comparison, I took photos in the natural light today; The Canoness doesn't look too different, but the GKTs are much shinier for it.

And with that, I think I'm done with painting these guys. Reckon it's worth trying to sell them on forums before hitting feeBay?

Not this forum, at least. Commercial transactions -- and advertising for such -- are forbidden. The best you can do is set it up via some other internet site and leave a modest link for it in your B&C signature.

Yeah, I was aware B&C has a policy against transactions on the site, it was just a genuine question as regards their quality/saleability. But thanks for the heads up regardless. :)
