Plague Tower W.I.P.

Recommended Posts

I always wanted a Plague Tower so I finally decided to make one.

I had a Land Raider that had been sitting for a long time without doing anything so I made it the base of my Plague Tower.

So I plucked out the sponsons and the doors and cut out the front and the back and turned the Land Raider back to front.

I bought the Siege Tower from WHFB and I placed it on top.

Adding plasticard and green stuff made the model more coherent and I am really happy how the model looks.

So here are some pics up to now...

The wood may not be considered resilient enough for a warmachine, but don't forget that this is a Daemon Engine of Nurgle!!!

That's looking really awesome! I have this siege tower and a spare land raider I wasn't sure what to do with, now you've got me wanting to do something similar!

Thanks!!!

It is cheap too...And a nice looking conversion and an interesting project!!!

The Plague Tower comes with 4 weapons.A Pus Cannon (just like the one the Plagueripper has), 2 Demolisher Cannons and 1 Plague Mortar.

I had some trouble as what to use for the mortar...

So I scanned my models and bit boxes and I found my Hellcannon. So I glued it together and primed it and I have to say that it fits just fine!!!

I started painting it too.I dont think it will be difficult to show this model as it is a great one!!!

Once finished I will add chains to link it with the tower and keep that monster in place!!

I also wanted to put some pots or barrels in the front doors as ooze containers but nothing seemed to fit, so I just sealed the doors shut.

I like it that way too since it gives it a weird feeling.

Anyway...Here are some photos of the progress...

Althoug a fan of everything that get's upscaled from epic, I never liked the "stick the siege tower to the landraider" versions because a wood and metal model looks off, even when you trie and draw it more together like you did.

It looks nice and all, and the paint job is making it look like one piece, but somewhere in my mind the thing should either be fully metal or fully wood.

Thanks for the comments everybody!

I know not many people like this combination but I like the feeling of the model.

Here is a small update on the Hellcannons painting.

I am working on the Plague Mortar now...

I am probably not going to use the Hellcannon but I am not sure yet...

I have some ideas and I am working on a small turret based on the defiler torso...

This came out well. What is with the yellow dude?

I've given some thought to building one, but I never play apocolypse so it isn't a priority. Are those towers still readily available?

I've always been a huge fan of the canon so I'm glad to see it is back in the chaos fantasy list, but I too have thought of using it in 40k... I was going to use it on a Plague whatever, the Baneblade conversion maybe...

Good work.

Thanks Muskie!!!

I got the last tower available at my local store when I heard they would stop producing any more...:D

The yellow dude is for size comparison since all my models are in my locker at my gaming store...

The Plaguebearer skull design on the door adds so much character to the vehicle. It's just on the right side of cartoony- makes me smile.

Any plans to infest this with Nurglings at any point?

Not really...

To be honest I am keeping my Nurglings for something cooler...
