How does Orbital Strike work?

Rules in WH Codex say it scatters double the D6 on a miss and scatters the amount the arrow points on the hit symbol but otherwise is like a ordnance weapon. So on a miss is scatters 2d6X2, and on Hit it scatters 2d6 the arrow direction? Seems kinda rough for scatters. :P

K well that utterly didnt answer my question... So on a miss it scatters 2D6X2, and on a hit it scatters 2D6 in the direction of the bold arrow on the crosshair? Cuz that's how its worded in the Codex.

Actually I think Veidins confusion is that in the WH codex it really does not say 2d6, just d6. But it also says it fires as per ordnance- wich in the BRB says 2d6. This is a valid point of confusion Id say.

Thankfully the WH FAQ clears this up for us- you can download it on the GW website. It states you ignore the inaccuracy rule completely and simply treat it as a ordnance weapon that doesnt have LOS- ie it goes 2d6 as per scatter and you can "hit" with it normally if you roll such.
