Alanter
It depends on what type of reader you are. I think thats right. I would even say that it is not the type of reader, but the mood you are in. I read "Grey Knights" as a bed lecture to calm down. It's like those business news paper I read - nothing you didn't expect. ;) The book itself is not well writen, mostly predictable and uses terms that GW never used. But I liked the new fluff - even though there was plenty stuff which made me a little confused. Alaric and Tancred which had power beyond their ranks or PAGK wearing thunderhammers. But that is okay. The Codex is very strict and I really don't think that The GK do not have any Chaplains at all or enough Brother Captains in TDA to lead every battle. I was a easy-to-read book and it made lot of fun. ^_^ 3/5 stars :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171828-grey-knights-omnibus/page/2/#findComment-2034760 Share on other sites
thrasymacus
I agree with all the above criticism. The 2nd and 3rd books were terrible, as is most BL stuff. Some surprising gems, beyond the usual; Execution Hour and its sequel (or was IT the sequel, I forget). This was actually a Battlefleet Gothic series, but it was just excellent with compelling characters. My favorite was a shady character press ganged into service and his slow and steady (and crafty) rise through the ranks. A really good read. Other than that, the Ragnar series got worse and worse. William King started out hot but kinda of lost his way over the years. My all time favoring is the original Deathwing short story published in the short story collection also titled Deathwing as well as in the Deathwing Space Hulk expansion. You could probably find it online. WOW! Such a good story. GKTELIAS
I myself have read all the books and I enjoyed them alot, especially Dark Adeptus. All I can say to those who want to read the series just enjoy the books since thats all the GK action we will get until a new codex. Mahoo
i thought they were a fairly decent read although i wouldnt buy the omnibus (just because i spend a few months trying to find the 1st GK book, after getting my hands on the last 2, after all my effort to get my hands on that 1st book, they released the freaking omnibus, rage? yes their was lol) nah i thought they were a good read, not to the same caliber of eisenhorn but great all the same  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171828-grey-knights-omnibus/page/2/#findComment-2051787 Share on other sites
