Ragnar the great Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 My fellow wolf brothers I need your assistance and help... after some long time painting my army I have now started playing on a regular basis, and I'm new to this game (althought I play actively online), I will shortly post pics of my army... I am getting greatly frustrated using our codex and then being told that those rule I use don't apply.... now I know I'm a noob but all i want to do is play a game and have fun... but when I use our rules and others say this and that too me, I don't know where I stand... My army is mainly infantry based with 2 squads of blood claws (total 20), 2 GH, 1LF, 1 scout squad, 1 pred, 1 rhino(with 1 anti tank). I also have urik,ragnar and grimnar. totally i can muster around 1500/1800 pt army (although I can add another 300 pts with dark angel support, I know i know but I made these for my friend so we can play together); I also have 1 inquisitor and vindica assain, and also 1 ven dred which can switch weapons and 1 black reach dred. any way i just normaly play as standard marines just to start to get the gist of the game so I don't need all this rubish about this and that, it seems to cause more trouble than its woth... but I need to ask u this. runic charms can I; if I pay the points give all my models this ability? the codex dose not say it's limited too just terms? scouts can drop in behind enemy lines if I roll a 4+ on round 2 (love this as it causes mayhem behind their tanks). can BC/GH deep strike with out a drop pod, terms need 1 as far as I know? any way brothers any and all help much appreicated. this comes about because I recently played a 2000 point game against templars, and I will say the wolves rocked and they kicked them where it hurts grimnar and 1st squads BC/GH by round 2 destroyed 'the Emperors champ/grenaldus and their squad' althought grenaldus got back up again only to run streight into regnar and the wolf gard coming in with the second wave HA.... also by this round the templars fielded 4 tanks and others troops my ven. dred fired his TLL and compleatly miss agaisnt his vindicator, but then launched his missiles, 6 then 6 bye bye vindi; also my rhino had moved into position to shoot at the side armour of 1 of his preds so I fired my tank killer yes.. it fired it scored and destoryed... AAAAHHHHH everyone in the shop was jumping around, unbloody well believable.... should I continue? bloody hell why not round three.. grimnar was attacked and sourranded and alone (althought he had 4 BC within 2 inches of him) he stood alone and gave his attackers a good thrashing... but took 2 wounds in the process (I was told that I could not include the BC's, why not as they were with in 2" of him) and the GH were 3" away. no problems as my rhino struck against his other pred (it had a dozer attached) it ripped it apart and then 2nd squad GH jumped out. this was an epic battle and the wolves won as he gave up after that... this is a battle that we will tell in the fang again and again brothers. Lord Grimnar destroyed many enemies and only suffered 2 wounds before they surrendered, this wolve pup (thats what I get called as I'm a noob) has teeth and can bite back.. so to finish brothers plz help me with those codex issues... Gyson_Vore Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 Firstly, the rules in codex Space Wolves, unless otherwise superseded in the FAQ, are still valid and playable. If your opponent has a problem with that, let him ask the LGS or GW employee. Secondly, any model with access to the armoury can take runic charms, with or without terminator armour. Thirdly, the way you have the scouts OBEL is accurate, I believe, as it states they begin in reserves. Fourthly, and possibly most importantly, welcome to the Fang. jester262 Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 firstly runic charms, any model with access to the armory, IE wolf guard and IC's, can take one second, scouts using operate behind enemy lines do not drop in. They enter on your opponents board edge. Grey Mage Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 Any model in PA or TDA can use a DP in the SW army- aswell as dreadnaughts. Wolf Scouts are the only infantry that cannot, and technically speaking you might swing BCs using JPs and Bikes, though Id argue that they cannot fit in a non-superheavy transport. Runic Charms can be taken by any model with access to the armory, at the points listed for their unit type, IC or WG. Wolf Gaurd Battle Leaders *WGBL* use the IC price, but have access to Wolf Gaurd heavy weapons as outlined in the Wolf Gaurd Bodygaurd profile. And as for Wolf Scouts, only one unit can use the Operate Behind Enemy Lines *OBEL* the rest must infiltrate, outflank, or set up normally.
