IL & retinue painting ideas

Hi i'm currently building up a small DH force to run as allies for my Black templars. I have 8 GKT's and 18 PAGK's and have started on my Iquisitor lord and retinue.

 

At the moment I have raided my bitz box and have a Power Armoured Inq with a combi melta and the power/force mace from the DA sprue.

Made from the space commander cloak and a generic looking Black Templar tabard front he has the half cybenetic head from the tac marine sarge and looks like he could handle a demon or two.

 

His retinue currently consists of...

Warriors- I have the Cadian Karskin with Melta and Plasma guns and a 3rd with the normal rifle.

Mystics- the 3 sanctioned psyker blister

Acolytes- Just recived the FW Solomon Lok fig today and have the FW Kreig commisar drawing his sword on back order for my 3rd ac i'm considering the Cypher fig but would like some more opinions.

I also have a chimera with the FW track guards and Inquisitorial door and symbols for there ride.

 

What I need some help with is choosing a paint scheme I figure the Chimera is going to be black with gold&red detail but the FW door is very nice looking and deserves somthing special so any ideas would be great .

 

Also for my IL himself i'm conflicted over the scheme I'm considering black armour with silver trim and red cloak/tabard, Silver armour black trim and black cloak or gold armour red trim and red cloak.

Again i'm open to ideas but want a simple but eye catching scheme so fire away.

 

The retinue will be painted indivdual styles except Karskin who i'm leaning towards normal camo for and the mystics which I want to check is there a coulur the psykers would be wearing for fluff reasons as part of an inquisitors retinue?

 

The idea for this unit is I want it to be eye catching and distract oponents into thinking it's more dangorous than it is while 1500pts of Black Templars and Grey Knights go charging across the battlefield.

 

After work tomorrow will try get some pictures of the models I have done so far up.

Fair warning: you can't take an Inquisitor Lord with any psychic powers as an ally to a Black Templar force since due to the Black Templars have the "Abhor the Witch" Special Rule, and using the Force Weapons ability to kill outright counts as using a Psychic power.

 

For the Inquisitor's paintjob, I'd go with one of the combinations of Black and silver, which should fit in pretty well with your Black Templars.
