Sonic Para
Good evening members of the Inquisition! I'm in need of some quick help here and just hoping someone can clear some things up. Alright, so one of my friends has decided to join the rest of us in 40K and he has chosen the Sisters of Battle as his force. While purchasing his initial models and Codex: Witch Hunters, he also picked up a Marine Vanguard Veteran squad and a Whirlwind assuming that the Sisters can take Marine allies. Now, we looked through the codex and couldn't find anything about a limitation on allies so I'm hoping to get a little clarification here. Also, if there is set of limitations in the codex, a page number would be greatly appreciated. And what about Sisters of Battle showing up as allies in Marine lists? Can that even be done? That Exorcist is mighty fine. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171988-witch-hunters-and-allies/ Share on other sites
Reich
on page 26 of the Witch Hunter Codex it tells you who can ally with the SoBs/Inquasition. However Space Marines can not ally with the inquisition if there is a squad of Sisters present in the force. On the flip side if you go back to page 25 you can have Sisters ally with Space marines...go figure. The lists of what can be taken are shown in each. hope that helps. Sonic Para
Thanks for the tip! That clears everything up nicely about the allies. Shame that WH Heavy Support can't be taken in other armies though. Apogee
If you do a parent WH list, Exorcists combined with 20-strong Sister squads make an excellent firing line and objective holder. Cannoness, Bikers, and Seraphim can take the fight forward. And dont' forget about assassins :). leonlynch
To save wasting the Whirlwind he could use it to model an Exorcist. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171988-witch-hunters-and-allies/#findComment-2033296 Share on other sites

Eddie Orlock
Seeing as the forgeworld version of the Exorcist si very similar to the whirlwind, yes.Is not, the forgeworld tank has cylindrical two missile racks whereas the whirlwind on my shelf mounts what appear to the untrained eye as two clusters of five crayons. Melissia
Compare this: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/wolf.htm With these: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/whirl.htm http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/wwhyperios.htm VERY similar. Most assuredly simimlar enough that one could count for the other. Eddie Orlock
Does not! Also, a rare chance to see my vintage, poorly painted, ever so beloved, Storm Angles Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/171988-witch-hunters-and-allies/#findComment-2033357 Share on other sites
Sister Rosette Soulknyt
Really it doesnt huh? Hmm so the only difference is that one is cylindrical and the other is squarish, wow thats such a difference, to not be "count as". Ive seen people use both in one army to justify and painted exactly to be able to be used as a Excorsist. Not everyone can buy or afford the Pipe organ Excorsist. Eddie Orlock
Did you some how manage to not see the bright, shiny, blue, venerable, armour I just posted? Also note how I earlier referred to the whirlwind on my shelf, not the one currently in production.
