Does this sound Good

Recommended Posts

I have a great idea for my pack of blood claws to tear the enemy to shreds. So here it is:-

Wolf Priest - Wolf Pelt - Frags - Bionics = 109 (He accompanies the Blood Claws)

Blood Claw Pack (15) - Flamer (1) - Power Weapon (2) - Power Fist (1) = 232

Land Raider Crusader = 250

TOTAL = 591

Obviously I would only use it in big games.

So can you tell me what you think of my Claws assault as it would be helpful.

Btw I would drive the Land Raider up to enemy get out and then charge with all my men.

This works brill in objective games.

THANX :)

It's not bad as such, but I'm pretty sure that Bionics aren't in the game anymore, so ditch those.

Also, if you're not going to give the WP Healing Potions & Balms, then you might as well replace him with a Wolflord with a Frost Blade and either Storm Shield or a Plasma pistol IMO.

Personally, if I put BCs in an LR I tend to give them either a Wolf Guard Pack leader or a Wolf Guard Battle leader as a WP is more effective when they're being shot at, and since they're in the LR...

Also, I tend to give my HQs either Runic Armour or TDA for that extra survivability...

If you're only using this squad in larger games, spend a few more points on making sure your IC is able to stand toe to toe with another IC. You don't want to spend 591 points and have him hosed at a crucial point in the game if you could have spent 630 and turn the tide of a battle...

I might go with an IC and a WGPL for the extra punch. I'd also use Runic armor or TDA and I may want a WTN and a RC as well. My Wolf Lord uses TH/SS with a terminator squad in a LRR. It's about 650 points, but I get two assault cannons and two TH/SS (plus my WL). It does VERY well. People are still shocked at how hard it is to kill a SW terminator.

I might also consider using a Redeemer instead of a Crusader. The Redeemer does quite well. The flame cannon are difficult to use, but when you bring them to bear they're incredible.

So.... ahhh.... yeah... riddle me this?

Where are you getting the rules for bionics eh? The only place their appears to be any rules for them in either codex is under cassius... and thats just fluff, not actual rules eh?

Bionics dont exist in the SW book as a functioning itme... unless Im really missing something here.

I think it actually says in the FAQ that bionics are now null and void, specially since it was a "see C:SM" item, and poof, it be gone from the new C:SM as of the last release.

Anywho, you may wanna take a gander over at the 'ol armylist subforum, as this unit has been around the block a few hundred times. there's other nice lil nuggets of buttkickiness over there.

I don't have the codex infront of me, but I do belive we have a bionic line in our summary, where it say what it do. I have been thinking about that old bionic as well, since it is the really old one, where you can return after you have lost your last wound.

:P

The rule for bionics is in the wargear summary of C:SW 3rd Ed. It basically says that when you lose your last wound, you roll a die. If you roll a six, then your guy gets back up with one wound. I am assuming that for models with multiple wounds, you still only get back up w/ one wound.

I think it's a pretty good little piece of wargear, especially since it's only 5pts. for WG.

*Rulez Pack Rage*

Ahem... how many times have we gone over the fact that the Wargear Summary is to be ignored? It's flawed and GW's admitted that. If it is not directly explained on the Wargear page or anywhere in C:SM, Bionics for all intents and purposes, do NOT exist! The same goes for Wolf Totems, Auspexes as well.

How else do you think we get 3++ Storm Shields and H4 Rending Assault Cannons?!

:D :D

::gives Bran an ale to calm the fires::

Yeah, it's actually written right at the top of the armory.

And it states on the top of the reference sheet in the back that it's only for reference, and to see the armory or C:SM for the full rules and information.

It really is handy what happens when reading happens :D

::puts out call to the warp for Decoy to join them with an ale::

Take a Rune Priest instead of a Wolf Priest.

A Rune Priest, hey, they only have 2 wounds but if you give him a Frost Blade and plasma pistol then you have a good leader with good leadership (only 1 below the Wolf Priest), a strength 5 power weapon and the ability to cast Storm Caller giving your Blood Claws a 5+ Cover save against things that would otherwise tear them apart.

Good hunting, For Russ!

My similar unit to this is:

Wolf Priest- P.Pistol- 110pts.

15x BC- 3x P.Fist- 246pts.

LRC- MM- 260pts.

616pts of doom. If I have the pts left over Ill give the priest a RC and a WTN. I never have enough to give him runic armor sadly... because at that point I just bought an attack bike.

Edit: to bad about those bionics too.... I thought for a minute Id missed them and maybe we could give our ICs FNP.... *shrugs* twasnt meant to be.
