My Dark Angels

I'm finally getting around to posting some of my models. I'll start with my 3rd Company Standard Bearer.gallery_25138_3687_313622.jpg

Other angles are available in my gallery. Comment and criticism welcome. I'll also welcome advise on my photography seeing as I'm just starting out on that aspect.

Yeah, I tend to catch those purity seals when I get around to refurbishing the models.

Here's my Librarian in terminator armor.gallery_25138_3687_603657.jpg

His eyes were my first attempt at lighting effects. I'm not too sure about the blue staff head but didn't want to go with just more white.

As before there are other angles in my gallery.

Excellent free-hand. One point for potential improvement would be to try and get a more gradual shading effect on the robes. That will take time, but the way I use is to have a graveyard earth basecoat for the robes then mix increasing amounts of belached bone into the highlight mixes before using pure bleached bone and then bleached bone and skull white. I'm not that great, but the finished examples look like this:

Not perfect examples, but hopefully you can see what I'm getting at.

Yeah, I've done the robes pretty quickly. They usually look very good on the tabletop, but the camera is very unforgiving. I'll have to try the graveyard earth base but I've never been a fan of mixing paints. I know that's what's needed to go up to the next level though.

Those are some very nice robes.

And now, for something entirely different . . .gallery_25138_3687_228225.jpg

Thanks on the Damocles. The Ezekiel belongs to Gillyfish though. Here's a techmarine.gallery_25138_3687_230112.jpg

Yep, I need to hit the purity seals on this one too.

After painting a company of dark green marines it sure is nice to paint a red or blue model for variety's sake. That's why I never cared for painting librarians, techmarines, chaplains, and apothecaries in the same color as the rest of my army.

I have four servitors that go with him. As soon as I can figure out how to get a group photo with all of the models in focus at the same time I'll post them too.

As always other angles are in my gallery.

The robes where the first thing that caught my eye - I think they need some retouching, if done well - it's also one of the areas in these models that can really make them stand out to their advantage.

The banner is absolutely awesome, difficult to do, but you've really nailed it!
