WG Vrox
WGBL with CML joins up with 4 normal weapon scouts 3 sniper rifles w/ 1 Missle launcher, put them in a building with 4+ cover save and away you go. So for 196 points you get 3 sniper shots and 3 missle shots, not bad, add in a couple of wolves and there ya go.. WG Vrox. You can only have up to 6 scouts and why not give them all sniper rifles + 1 ML? WGBL + TDA + CML + 6 Sniper Scouts + ML = 199 points I have to say that I like the idea, and I just might use it on Thursday against an Eldar Friend of mine... I thought Wolf Guard in TDA couldn't lead scouts? That's true, but a Battle Leader can. He just doesn't infiltrate with them if they infiltrate (Or OBEL for that matter). Rokafort Stonewolf
Where does it say WG with TDA can't lead scouts? I know there was an errata saying he can't OBEL with them, but where does it say he can't be assigned to the squad? It does seem like a somewhat inexpensive source of heavy weapons fire that doesn't involve the use of a tank, but for 200 points I can get 4 WGBG with two Cyclones and somewhat minimal weaponry, or a couple of Typhoons, or better yet, another Predator, assuming our HS slots aren't full. Since SW armies really only have one flexible elite choice (WG are pretty much automatic, and imo so are OBEL scouts) it's hard to drop it on something like this. Schertenleib
FAQ says WG in TDA can't lead Scouts. There was a lot of probelms from what I understand. Blood Claws with TDA WG can't Sweeping Advance. KeithGatchalian
You are getting your WG's mixed up. A Wolf Guard Pack Leader with scouts or blood claws cannot where TDA. A Wolf Guard Battle Leader with TDA can join those squads in the deployment or movement phase. He just can't infiltrate or OBEL. A pack leader is a sergeant, a battle leader is an IC/ HQ. I've always thought a WGBL with 4 wolves, and a master crafted plasma cannon joined to a long fangs squad with 4 plasmas would rock. You get a rerollable plasma shot, and you add bodies to keep the long fangs alive. One of the complaints about Long Fangs have been that they are easy to kill off....well now you are adding 4 wolves, and the WGBL's 2 wounds to the mix. Yeah its expensive, but how effective could it be....? Rokafort Stonewolf
Ah, you're right, they did add it to blood claws, mostly because the question referred to them _and_ wolf scouts. It was likely another question the stupid teenager in charge of rules maintenance couldn't answer - see WGBL heavy weapons. ;) Win some, lose some I guess. Looks like your combo's illegal, this thread is useless. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172141-another-combo-to-consider/#findComment-2034675 Share on other sites
clanfield
or you could use 4 wg body guards with a leader with 3 missle launchers and some other wepons bolters or combis and it reduces the number of slots used in your foc i still prefure the pred destructor with las pods thou very cheep Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172141-another-combo-to-consider/#findComment-2035094 Share on other sites
Rokafort Stonewolf
The thing is, Krak missiles aren't great AT. You could give them 3 multi-meltas but those aren't very mobile on infantry. Better to use speeders, attack bikes, or dreads for AT with the aforementioned multi-meltas.
