Skalver
There is a limit of 20 Wolf Guard total in the list, you can see it says 0-20 Wolf Guard on page 8 of Codex: Space Wolves. These can be either Wolf Guard Leaders or Wolf Guard Bodyguard. Wolf Guard Battle Leaders do not count towards this limit. dragon950
The rulebook says that after 3000 points the force orginization is no longer set, so would the 20 wolfguard also be allowed to increase? Course ifd your playing 3000 then might as well make it an apocalyspe game where there is no limit. whitewolfmxc
No its says , if its over 2500 (well yeah like 3000) you make take attachments (so you can say your taking two armies / companies etc) so for say 3000 points you can say your taking two 1500 armies , so you'll be having at least 2 HQ and 4 Troop choices (and max is 4 HQ and 12 troop choices) , vice versia depending on both sides agreeing how many detachments are playing so if using above scenario , you can take 40 wolf guards in the two 1500 armies controlled by you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172160-wolfguard/#findComment-2035335 Share on other sites
ninjabat
wait, we can only field 4 hqs? doesn't that severely limit our amount of regular troops since we need one hq per 750 points. if i am sorely mistaken, i am sorry, but i have played one game at my local hobby store so please bear with me. Schertenleib
One HQ for every 750 (rounding up). The limit for WG in each army is 20. So if you field multiple armies (Apoc) you can have 20 WG for each army. Roguemarine
he was saying at 1500 its 2 HQ's and 3000 its 4, and then the troops Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172160-wolfguard/#findComment-2036806 Share on other sites

My mistake for confusing you , i was at once thinking on normal SM terms , for SW , in this case how ever is 4 minimum since we must have 1 HQ for each 750 points rounding up so in a 3000 points game using two deteachments you must and no more than 4 HQs , and since there's two detachments you can have 20 x 2 = 40 wolf guards Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172160-wolfguard/#findComment-2036807 Share on other sites
