Roleplayer
Thanks for a the great replies, everybody :D Yes, I do own AoBR, and yes, I wil be painting up those terminators. In fact, I have converted them all up to be blood ravens, here is a sneaky peak at their sgt, and what's to come. Even tho this isn't the forum for WIP stuff. ;) http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3f891e2a360.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3f895a948dc.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3f8965a48e2.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a40cff051822.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a40d00fce43d.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3a254954ac3.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3a2555d1ba1.jpg Veteran Sgt Caedo, Keeper of the Vanguard. My Second tactical sgt. Will post his full history when he's painted, but basically, he was a Vanguard Veteran who earned a lot of great honours, and then returned to tactical swuad duty, to choose new members for the Vanguard. This is the personal Land Raider of my Blood Raven Chapter master, so I have attempted to make it look old, and venerated, as well as adorn it with ravens and birds. It's still WIP, so if people can think of anything else cool I can do, please let me know! The person on the land raider is also a special character, my chapter's version of Chronus, and he'll be able to be taken off the land raider and placed upon predators and things as needed, though more often then not he'll just be decorative on my Land Raider. http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3b56e7ddb9a.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3b56f3f193f.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3b570013f99.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3b57130c996.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3b572754025.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3b5739af8ac.jpg The one empty door is empty on purpose for painting my Lord's heraldry. Roleplayer
Take knee brothers, I sense something. http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3c920a02bbd.jpg Test run, (Need to change elf hand for space marine hand) Blood Ravens Second Captain Sicarus. Valhalla waits, valkyries rise and fall The warrior tombs, lie open for us all A ghostly hand reaches through the veil Blood and sand, we will prevail http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a4ea98ae7ce6.jpg Blood Raven Supreme Librarian Aviun, Keeper of the Sacred History. Counts as Cheif Lib Tig from the Ultra Marines. http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a422b466c730.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a422ba6e7a2c.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a422bbe22d27.jpg http://www.shainerin.com/squidoo/images/tribalraven.gif Aviun, Keeper of the Sacred History. The supreme librarian is a figure of mystery and awe, even amongst the Blood Ravens themselves. The oldest known living member of the chapter, his exact age is unknown, as his time of induction is just after the great event that wiped the Raven's clear of their history, and thus records of that time in the Chapter's history are sketchy and difficult to uncover. The most gifted psyker in the chapter, he has masted all the ancient combat arts of the Space Marines, having studied under both Mephistous of the Blood Angels and Tigiruis of the Ultra Marines in his younger days. Currently he sits as head of the Council of Ravens, the ruling body who directly advises the Great Father. His exploits are many, and his advice is regarded highly and seldom dismissed, even amongst the newer guard within the Blood Raven Chapter. Originally slated to be the next chapter master, he instead passed on the position to allow the current master, Angelous, to ascend. Amongst all information sought by the knowledge hungry Blood Ravens, none is as sacred or as highly coveted as details of their lost past. And it is to Aviun as Master Librarian that this precious treasure is entrusted. Everywhere he goes, Aviun will carry the ancient tome, documenting everything he sees, and all the exploits of his chapter with religious zealously. All is written down in the tome whose first pages are as blank as the Blood Ravens knowledge of their origins. Special Rules: Master Psyker: Aviun is a god-psyker amongst a chapter renown for its psychic ability. He thus knows all Space Marine psychic powers. Weave the Fates: Aviun is a master of the Emperor's Tarot. He has learned to use his psychic prescience to predict the future and is able to unravel the mysteries of what is yet to be. As such you may re-roll any reserve roll dice, even successful ones Wargear: Raven's Shroud: The Raven's shroud is a master crafted psychic hood, stolen from a dying Edlar farseer. It allows its wearer to attune himself or herself far more closely to the warp. As such, Aviun may use 3 psychic powers per turn. The Raven Staff: The sign of office for the head of the Raven's Council, uncovered long ago on a forgotten world deep in the eastern fringe. Its black obsidian allows the user to channel his own metal strength through the blade. Thus the Raven Staff counts as a master crafted Force Weapon. --------------- http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4a3642d3f0aeb.jpg http://www.ironhands.com/mp_blrav.gif Master Angelous, The Great feather, Lord of the Blood Ravens, Keeper of the Seven Seals., 160pts. WS: 6 BS: 5 Str: 4 T: 4 W:3 I: 5 A:3 LD:10 Am Save: 3+ http://forum.40kradio.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=303&pictureid=3437 Angelous is the youngest Chapter Master in the history of the Imperium. Assuming the duties of responsibility of the Chapter at the mere age of 136 years, and having only been in charge of the chapter for less than 35 years since. Angelous’ career is one of unparalleled excellence amongst space marines. He was found drifting alone in an escape pod stasis sealed by a Blood Ravens strike cruiser patrol in 41M near the abandoned planet formerly known as Prospero. As a child he demonstrated an unparalleled psychic power and affinity with the warp, and after becoming a scout was immediately advanced to the rank of Librarian in training. As his psychic powers developed he gained ‘warp sight’, a rare ability in hbumans to ability to see the locals where warp and real space intersect. This ability, much like that of an Eldar psyker or navigator has allowed him to divine the future, and lead to some incredibly stunning campaign victories, and the acquisition of much lost knowledge. The Blood Ravens quest for knowledge above all things burns in Angelous like no other Raven, and he rests at nothing to increase the size of the libraries on the Blood Raven battle Barge ‘Sancta Raven’. He has been known during his tenure to divert significant portions of the Blood Raven’s fighting forces away from desperately needed theatres on the merest hint of the possibility of an ancient text, or piece of the STI system. During his rule he has also expanded the power of the Librarian council, merging them together with the Apothacarian, and making the Council of Ravens, the Cabal of 12 Librarians that rule over the Blood Raven’s 12 Companies responsible for all recruitment into the chapter. He has also advanced many of those of psychic prominence within the chapter, and no high position has been filled by a battle brother without some psychic inclination since his induction as Great Father. The results of this are a Blood Ravens force that is incredibly potent on the battlefield, bolters backed up by psychic flame, guided by the divinations of librarians who direct the firepower to its most needed location, and weave spells of protection, warding away enemy fire from their battle brothers. The Blood Ravens have since experienced such few causalities that a 13th company may need to be formed, placing the Ravens at 5 full strength reserve companies. Their psychic prowess makes them especially efficient at fighting the forces of the Necron, Chaos or Eldar menace. The Inquisition is rumored to be watching the Ravens and their young Chapter Master, very closely. Wargear: The Raven's Claw; The Raven's claw is a potent weapon, gifted to the first known chapter master of the Blood Ravens, Master Azariah by an Emperor's Custodian. A potent psychic weapon, it can only be born by one of strong psychic mettle, lest the wielder become undone by intense visions of the Emperor and fall to the floor, writhing and gibbering tongues. Being a Custodian's blade it's history dates back to the days of the Great Crusade, and many an enemy of mankind has met his fate at the hands of the black claw. The Raven's Claw is a two handed weapon that allows Angelous to strike at strength 6 and ignore armour saves. Invulnerable saves may be taken as normal. Wings of the Great Father: These are a set of ceremonial wings styled black as a ravens and worn by the master of the Blood Ravens. Made from a special psychic metal looted from a destroyed Eldar craftworld in 38.8M, when worn by a strong psyker it projects a field of neigh invulnerability around the wearer. Sheathing them in a field of absolute protection. Thus, this mantle grants Angelous a 4+ invulnerable save under all circumstances where regular armour save would not be allowed. Razari: This is the two headed raven and personal seal of the master of the Blood Ravens. Upon assuming the mantle of leader of the Ravens, the new chapter master undergoes a month long ritual of purification, where he does not eat, or sleep, but instead reads and learns. After this ordeal, when his mind is weakest, he is bonded to psychic familiar bread by the chapter Apothecaries and Librarians. This bird will then act as a second set of eyes. One head seeing for the chapter master, the other sees what Angelous sees. The bird can also speak for Angelous with his voice. During combat, Razari may attack his opponent, and his psychic talons are as potent as any power weapon. But this is not without risk. If the bird is struck, Angelous will feel the blow in his mind as if dealt a blow himself. If a 1 is rolled on to hit, the bird has been struck by the foe as it attempted to attack. Razari's attack is represented by the following profile, Razari: Range 12", S 7 AP 2, Pistol, Gets hot! http://forum.40kradio.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=303&pictureid=3436 Circle of Blood: The circle of blood is the most potent psychic attack known to the Blood Ravens, who are without a doubt the most knowledge of all space marine chapters in the ways of the warp, perhaps with the exception of the Grey Knights. The book which contained the ritual was looted from a pre-heresy Thousand Sons battle barge, found floating dead in space in the Ulysses sector behind several psychic force fields. The fields were only broken with the deaths of 11 chapter Librarians. The circle of blood calls upon the absolute strength of the immaterium, and literally transformers a sector of space into a portal to warpspace. All matter that existed in the circumference of the spell is converted into warstuff. The hole is then closed as quickly as it was opened, leaving nothing but an empty hole, filled with blood, hence the name. Opening and closing a very portal to hell leaves any psyker, even one as potent as the Chapter master of the Blood Ravens mentally drained. Thus, it may only be used once per game. Preparation for the spell beforehand is such that, no other psychic thoughts may be in the Master's mind. Hence, he may not choose any other librarian powers but Circle of Blood. The technique is known only to the Chapter Master, so also may not be chosen by any other Librarian in the army. The attack as the following profile, Circle of Blood: Range: Unlimited, Str:10 AP:1 Ordnance, Barrage. http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Science/Images/massive-nuclear-explosion.jpg The Raven’s Feathers: If you take Angelous, you may also take The Raven’s Feathers, his elite personal bodyguard(They count as a Honor Guard in every respect). See their codex entery for relevant wargear details. -------------------

Brevik
Fantastic work, although I do agree on the drilling out of the bolters bit, the pose of the stormbolter chap makes it a bit obvious, and would definitely benefit from it. Otherwise, the red shade you've used is very nice, quite "earthy" rather than bright, which is nice. The conversions are looking great too, particularly that kneeling squad - that's the best use of that open hand I've seen in a long while, good work sir! ShinyRhino
These are all wonderful models. Where are the little aquila bits on the librarians' foreheads from? Banner pole tops? Minor nitpick but you've still got an Ultramarine symbol on the horsehair crest. Keep up the good work!

Baxter190
The red is simply,Base red Mach Red, 2 thin coats. Red Gore, 2 thin coats. 2 washes of Baal Red Wash over the entire model. Then a highlight of 50/50 Redgore/blood red Then a highight of pure blood red. Quick question. Do you use black or white primer? Also, when you do the wash over the entire model, have to painted the white parts as well? Just wondering because I think I'm going to try to replicate your colors for my own blood ravens.
