Getting back into it after 10 years of complete abandonment, i might as well be starting for the first time all over again ( i was 13 back then... ) anyway, assembling a dark angels army to start back up on tabletop and this is my first completed model, looking for a critique ( i can handle an honest one without getting defensive, also any tips to better myself are GREATLY appreciated ).

as a side note: if the AoBR wasn't such a screamin' deal for fleshing out an army i would complain more about how much it sucks that the models are so... unconfigurable. To say the least.

Thats a good start, I also came back to the hobby after about 10 years or so, after a while you will become a lot better and look back at these and think hmmmm test mini's for other paint scheme's. ;)

Get painting some more, and get them terminators done :D

Terminators are headed into the assembly line when i get off work tonight. but i gotta run by the hobby shop first and see if i can't find a pack of shoulders ( curse AoBR and its permanent shoulders ). I'll throw a few more photos of the SM Captain and some WIP shots of the marines up as well.

Few more shots of the captain. i'm thinking i'll change the chords on his chest to a redder brown. As always C&C is appreciated

Thats a good looking squad

If its not too late to mod them I found a couple of ways to mod the static marines to give them a slightly different pose/head

Nice work on the greens - good smooth highlighting form the looks of things. I know how you feel about starting again after a very long break and about the models in the AoBR set.

My only advice, (which could be wrong as you may already be doing it, so I'll visit an optician,) is that the bleached bone looks a tad thick in some places, so I'd recommend thinning it out a little more and doing a few lighter layers just so it looks a little smoother. Other than that nice work my friend.
