SamaNagol
A fair counter point, however Redeemers depend on being within template range. Whereas my Crusader only goes within 12 inches when it has a nice soft infantry unit to wipe out or something to Melta to death. Personally, I wouldn't use a Redeemer. It's too inflexible in it's application. ripath
Becuase it's generally easier and there's less resistence to using a printed Forge World model than say getting an opponent to agree to a home made LR Varient or even the SM Reedemer. Let me think about this...........NO! thats like saying that its bad sportsmanship to not want to face a baneblade or titan at 1000 points. There is nothing wrong with saying that you don't want to run against forgeworld stuff. And if there is then you need to also figure that your opponent can field forgeworld stuff too. Saying that GK can't have something because it is overpowered while there are things that other armies have that can also be considered overpowered to the same standards is flawed. Gentlemanloser
It would be, if the GK Redeemer was a super heavy... Point is, it is easier to get people to accept Forgeworld stuff over homebrewed stuff (like the Inquisitorial Project here), as Forgeworld is at least somewhat 'official'. For example, there was absolutly no obstruction to my request to use the IA2 update FAQ for exising GK vehicles. Yet if I'd have just said "Guys, I want to use the new SM Drop Pods with my Dreadies, cuz Locator Beacons rock!", people might have thought about it and decided against it. Maybe thinking I was only trying to cheese/powergame. I understand that point and see it as completely valid. However that doesn't change that things like titans, baneblades, the big nid gribblies, and thunderhawks are all also done by forgeworld. So if your opponent is letting you play with the redeemer then they should have the option of playing with whatever stuff their army has from forgeworld. Also the number of people who have a grey knight redeemer and the book with its rules that cost as much is going to be about the same as someone with one of the other heavy hitting units. Daedalus Templarius
Redeemer got popped by the first multi-melta it was hit with last night, although the GKT inside cleaned up everything after that, I was still sad to see it destroyed so fast. They moved on to kill 2 more squads and Marneus Calgar and his retinue (albeit the GM had 2 wounds left and the rest were dead), I didn't even realize he had placed wounds on Calgar, otherwise I would have rolled for NFW instakill. Hopefully the redeemer will be more effective in its next outing.
