The Immortal
These are the pictures of my Librarian from The Immortals Chapter. He is my first ever attempt at highlighting, etc. and so he isn't that great a quality as what you can find on this site, but i am proud of him so i thought i'd show him off! I am sorry about the picture quality but it turns out a 5 M.P. mobile phone camera is the best camera in the house! :-S From Front http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/6408/090701095611.jpg http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/4687/090701095703.jpg From Back http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/527/090701095534.jpg http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/2536/090701095558.jpg From Left http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/6065/090701095654.jpg From Right http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3755/090701095633.jpg C&C please! ikik
It looks pretty good seen the fact that it's your first serius atempt at painting but it doesn't look finished seen the fact there's a lot of white left are you gonna do those with metallic paints or are you just gonna leave it that way? Smoking Bolters
Hi Immortal, For a first attempt its brilliant. And the pictures work just fine for me, and are good pictures. I use an old 4mp kodak to take mine. The flesh on the face is really good can't fault that, it draws draws the eye to it. As is the pattern on the force axe. I would suggest for your next model to add a drop of water to the blue. Ultramarines blue i find is a very flat colour it really needs a darker blue to take that away, perhaps use a base of regal blue to start then layer the UM blue over that, if the paint is thinned with the water you can get a pretty decent blend. And as said, some of the white areas would benefit from being a different colour. On the joins in the armour, cables coming from the helmet and on the right arm. Mabie try painting them black and highlighting them with codex grey, or black with a spot of white mixed in. Although a green cable might work too :) The metal areas such as the end of the plasma pistol, the Aquilas and force axe would look good as gold or dark silver. Mix it up and have both gold and silver on the model, gold alone can look a bit too much. Hope i have not been over critical. You have made a great start with this model and no doubt will continue to improve with every model you paint! The Immortal
Hi! Thanks for all the tips! I will go away, and practice! By the way, the white areas are actually mithril silver... obviously didn't come out well in the pictures. Thanks again! ~T-I~ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172337-librarian/#findComment-2036744 Share on other sites
ikik
than as advice to make the silver not look like white or realy flat use badad black wash or just thin some black paint till it's as thick as water and use that as a wash Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172337-librarian/#findComment-2037016 Share on other sites
