[ARTWORK] ULTRAPALS

Recommended Posts

Ok, i started this comic the last year as one of my ever-growing pile of proyects. Of course, life comes around so i could not continue it (it´s just a matter of time, i will continue it... someday...). So, here is what i have so far:

Number one:

That´s the main story... yeah, ultras, i know, but i had in mind to include other chapters. And there are only two ultras, come on! :P

I began to paint this, but again, life... (that, and that i don´t know how to use well my graphic tablet to paint... ¬¬U)

I think that a t-shirt with this logo could be interesting ^_^

And this one

My idea was not only drawing a story, but also other one-strip-histories to break the "monotony".

I had discovered that having an imagination far quicker than your hability to draw is a sh***t. I can think on nearly 50 strips without any problem, but when the times to draw them comes... i´m just too slow (like painting... or converting....hurm...). Maybe someday i find a good drawer. Or have free time again :P Eitherway, if i draw more i promise to put here... unless you don´t want ;)

Hope you like it, C&C welcome!!

(Huh, i expected more answers... at least two ;) ) Well, thanks hidje, glad to see that you liked it ^_^ :P . Doing jokes about 40k is REALLY easy but drawing takes me a lot of time. Hope someday i can post more strips ;) ;)

Thanks to anyone who enjoyed this! ^_^

thank you for posting your artwork, it's a rarity on this board and it breaks up some of the monotony :jaw:.

as for the artwork/comics themselves: it's a little odd to have a quarter of a panel in color then have the rest in black and white-- at best it gets a "hey wait a minute what" reaction, at worst they think its sloppy or unprofessional.

the artwork could easily be seen as a webcomic, as it's not ridiculously elaborate like:

http://fc05.deviantart.com/fs19/f/2007/253/b/1/Castigator_Captain_by_tacticangel.jpg

such intricacy would be good for a comic obviously, but would be a pain to illustrate in every panel-- especially with how quickly a webcomic needs to be updated in order to keep interest :jaw:

oh, and the punchlines were pretty good-- the second comic in particular was inspired. "i'd prefer a sword..." "well it's not an option" HA

++EDIT++ and props go to tacticangel on deviantart for that castigator pic (chose it cause they are a b&c hosted diy chapter )

Yeah, sorry about the color (i should have posted all in b&w but... i forget to do it on the first comic and was lazy to change it :(). Also, this is why the post is on the "work in progress" ;) ;)

Also, i try to do my best on this comics, but i don´t look for an over-detailed draw like the one you posted (a fantastic one, i have to say!) just because... well, i´m slow and i´m not suer i could draw that good... ^_^ ^_^

Hope this summer i can draw one or two more pictures. Eitherway, the day i finish one i will post them here, thanks for the replies!!

just make certain to keep a consistent style.

some would say that the illustration is amateurish i say it is stylistic, and fits the humour in the comic quite well.

btw, "here's your official stone for heroic poses" is awsome. i want to make a diorama.

keep it up.
