inquisitorial valkyrie

Higgins

Recommended Posts

I recently started 40K again (10 year break, im 18 now)

and back then i was paining in acrylics!

anywho, me and a few mates decided to get back into warhammer and i decided to head along with the Grey knights because they're shiny. hooray!

however! my inquisitor needed a pimped out ride!

well, i've finished the main body and scratches (still gotta scratch the striped transfers), my next plan is to add thousands of little warning signs, infomation "no step here" signs etc which should be great fun! :)

the rear ramp was shaped like an "I" so was perfect for the inquisition!

and last but not least, my mural on the side ;)

i've still got lots of work to do, and I've really enjoyed painting this model so far ;) any criticism or advice will be fantastic thanks :)

Fantastic looking Valkyrie! I like the 'painterly' freehand aquilla over the wings, it's incredibly cool. Nice job on the Sister of Battle nose-art too, though I'm not sure how well that would go over with the typical menacing Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus. :P

"But mi'lord Inqusitor, you requested we paint a mural of Sister Francesca crushing the witch beneath her boot. I thought this represented that notion very well." - The last words of Pilot Cedric Von Clastenburger.

All in all, brilliant paint job. Very nice freehand.

I like it, only thing I would add, would the pilot and WSO's call signs on the canopy frame, though if your Inquisitor is off fighting a genestealer cult, I would advise against have their names be Ferro and Spunkmeyer :P

I'll try and get you one up around sunday :) its in one of the display cabinets at my local GW for winning a painting competition :) (which i will post up here as well :D)

the close up may not look too brilliant :S i need a smaller brush as the whole painting is just bigger than an imperial guards head lol

come to think of it, i dont think my camera could handle it! ^_^

I just love it and I agree, this is one of the better valks I've seen so far.

The Sister on the side will more than likely get you more than your fair share of "stray" melta shots from "some" armies, but I think you did a great job on the nose art.

Brilliant model.

Cheers,

cheers :) I kept thinking about that and it really kept bugging me, but then i imagined an aging grey knight grand master, fully clad in armor with a bathing suit stretched over the top in the same pose <_<

well, i purchased some green stuff the other day! I've always wanted to try it but i could never afford the stuff :(

I acquired some terminator legs, and lots of spare spru and set to work originally to create a true scale space marine!

i've always thought the dark angels special characters were badass :P so halfway through he slowly pointed towards a dark angels character lol

and as you can see, hes slowly become jonson lol

wow dude! just plain awesome! and you say it's the first time you've ever used greenstuff? yikes man. My one little irk, if you're using this guy with regular space marines, cool, but using Lion along with a true-scale army makes him not exactly stand out. Primarch's are a lot bigger than normal Astartes so with other truescale no, normal yes.

Wow, thats just awesome dude! First time too, GS is tricky stuff to work with, but you seem to got it down on the first run. I agree with Twin.44 above though, definately keep with the GW scale marines and keep your primarch guy truescale for his "hey, i'm taller than the rest, I lord over all of you" awesomeness. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more!
