ragnar again...

Recommended Posts

brothers I have a ponderance... now with my local GW shop if you wish to use a model in battle it has to be base coated?

is that a local managers rule or a GW rule?

it means otherwise don't paint your land raider, leave it black/gey/white and then i can use that with a SW/DA army? etc etc (even templars/ultramarines etc which i'm loath to do...).

so your feed back is greatly recieved...

Sounds like a local manager rule. It is not in GWs interests to discourage people from buying stuff by making it harder to use them in battles. It is however in the managers interest to keep the guys who don't paint out of the store so he can game with his hardcore buddies all day.

(thats just my opinion though, I don't know for sure either way)

In the stores I've played in the general rule has been on weekends and day times models should be painted (even if its like tourny 3 colours+) although new models/armies may be given an exception as long as they progress between visits (so you paint a few between each visit). This I think has always been to do with new people and the general public and making good impressions because painted armiers look better than ones that are undercoated or less. However on game nights and so on in the evenings models do not need to be painted

humm..

I can see if you purchase new models then deploy them and exception is made, but no; in my local shop that dose not apply... unpainted unplayed...

but is this a game shop rule? or just a local managers, don't get me wrong my local manager is of great help and knows all games..

it's just a general question.
