ferrum proeliator
In a lot of the fluff around the Horus Heresy, we hear of more than one legion fighting alongside one another. For example the Emperor's Children being supported by the Luna Wolves on Murder or Death Guard fighting alongside Emperor's Children on Isstvan III. Is there anything ruleswise that forbids us from using more than one legion in a force, as I am tempted to field an Emperor's Children/Death Guard (dusk raiders) force, for my next project. Rob_Loken
Shouldn't be mate, if you're using the same codex, they're all marine models just with different paint jobs. What codex are you going to use? ferrum proeliator
I was gonna use Codex: Space Marines. I couldn't find anything in there forbidding it, but I wanted to double check here before I go and buy a load of stuff! Lady_Mournival
No rules against this whatsoever. Though I have to say this is the most unusual combined force of marines I have ever heard proposed, but that is just because it is pre-heresy. Consider me officially interested about this topic and if/when you start this if it's in a different thread or in a blog I would very much like a link. Good luck brother and may the great crusade hold many glories for thee. EDIT: Do you have an idea of who would be leading your force, who the main body of troops be, etc? Rob_Loken
Consider me interested. Here's an idea for you though, I have an ultramarine force but I use Imperial Fists as veterans. It could be nice to use the Sternguards or Elites section as the Luna Wolves and the Troops choices as Emperors Children to highlight the fact that it was a relatively small contingent of Luna Wolves that came to the aid of the EC. ferrum proeliator
Emperor's children and Luna Wolves, I feel, are the right forces for my next force. To brother Duncs - I like this idea a lot! Sounds just right to have Luna Wolves as veterans and EC as troops. To battle brother mecharius - I may have Captain Tarvitz as my leader. I don't know where I'm going to slot Lucius in though... cheers for the help!! Next stop, my local GW! Lady_Mournival
Not only were they a rather small force that came to the aid of the EC but also elites would be a very good representation because it was Tarik Torgaddon's elite Second Company; representing the Luna Wolves since Cthonia G'!. As for Tarvitz leading the boys, it depends on what time period you were doing the force in. If it was still initially Murder you could do a small mix of a command squad with Luna Wolves and EC which would be interesting. Lucius...... well you'll need a beast of a profile for him..... Maybe put Tarvitz as a chapter master cuz the original crusade marines were stronger imho and you could use lucius as the chapter champion. Another idea is to use Tarvitz as a captain and Lucius as captain Shryke; except for the fact of the jump pack but that is slightly unfluffy. On the other other other hand, you could put Tarvitz as normal captain and Lucius as a Vanguard sergeant with a vanguard sqaud armed with shields and BPs (Which is quite fluffy as in one of the books (whether Fulgrim or one of the LW/SOH books I'm unsure) Lucius leads a veteran squad of emperors children armed pretty close to this). Those are all my ideas, good luck brother; keep us updated.
